Just a crappy bench, but just to give an idea what it can do on all default settings, no vid card overclocking, only cpu running at 2.6ghz. For comparison, under XP Pro, I get ~8100 at the same settings. If I could overclock my vid card in Vista like I do in XP, it gains ~600-700 points...I will probably just modify my BIOS and flash the damn thing tomorrow :p EDIT: this was with the 100.54 drivers not 100.59 as my title suggests, I re-ran with the 100.59 and got exactly 1 point more. Pretty consistent eh? And I will have a new C2D E6400, Asus P5B, and some new ram coming in a couple weeks....W00T!

I am going to flash my card tomorrow...have a BIOS all ready to go and a boot cd made to run the flashing...

Where do u get the BIOS from. From what I can see I seem to have the latest version, but could have been looking in the wrong place.

What we mean is taking the video card's current BIOS, modifying it to use higher clock speeds, then flashing the modded BIOS onto the card. We don't download it from anywhere.

My 3DMark06 score took a 2,000 point hit in performance from XP vs. Vista. 3DMark06 seems to ONLY want to run DX10 which means it's only using one of my 8800GTX's. Normally I score 16k, now I'm at 14k tops.

Correct, SLI is currently non-functional under Vista.

TheRapture, with my rig under XP, i get ~8200 in 3Dmark06.

3800 x2 @2.55 ghs
8800 gts 627/900 with fan on 100% (never breaks 55C)
2 gig of ocz plat ram

Here's mine under XP:

evga 8800 gts @ 615/1350/975, Opteron 165 @ 2.8ghz.

Rapture, I'll be patiently waiting for your Core Duo benchmarks when you set that up... ;)
I'm ignoring the cpu scores and looking at individual graphic test scores here

Your SM2.0 scores went up while SM3.0 went down under vista, wonder why?

I get similar results as seanmcd.

at default in XP i get around 8750 with a GTS.
and in Vista I get around 8660.

thats using the 100.54 drivers.
My SM2.0 score also went up in Vista while the SM3.0 went down.

Here's my results for 3dmark06, Vista 64, and OC'd 8800GTS (621/1280/2000)

In XP I actually have a best of 8892, but that was with the card at 625/2000....under Vista at 600/925 I get almost 8400, but I would expect that to increase once some more refined drivers are out for Vista and the 8800's.

Weird, according to all of the threads and the "lawsuit", the 8800 doesn't work in Vista

SLI in vista is terribly broken though.

Counter-strike Source
Windows XP with SLI:
100+fps @ 2560x1600 with 16xQ FSAA & 16x AF

Windows Vista with SLI:
1-2 fps @ 2560x1600 with 16xQ FSAA & 16x AF
25-30 fps @ 2560x1600 with 4x FSAA & 16x AF
80-100 fps @ 2560x1600 with 0x FSAA & 16x AF

Windows XP without SLI:
approx 60-70 fps @ 2560x1600 with 16xQ FSAA & 16x AF

Windows Vista without SLI:
approx 60 fps @ 2560x1600 with 16xQ FSAA & 16x AF

Clearly, SLI is fubarred.

stupid question... when i install 3dmark06 it says i need to install directx 9.0c... is that ok? vista is supposedly using directx 10 right? does it cause any issues?

thanks in advance.
