Just picked it up tonight for $50.
I need to mess with it, I have the swivel shelve things but I'm not sure
whether or not I want to use them.

Also need to fill up the shelves and do some cable management.

edit: Ignore the paint lol, it was my sisters room before mine.
Nice, old school Jerker... at a great price, too!

I really want to make computer cases and parts.
I really want to come out with my own designs and ideas.

But ya.... computer parts are starting to sit on the shelves. I really need to start putting them
to good use. Actually all week I have been thinking of mods and cleaning shop. I really have
some stuff I cant wait to share with you!! I think you guys will love some of my ideas

You can really thank DarthBeavis &Ockie & others for really inspiring me to put my
parts to good use and doing some modding.
I feel your pain tho my place looks like a modding store. I tend to sell super cheap or give away my old stuff (just sent two Asus Striker Extreme 680i mobos to a worthy user who is doing community work . . .for the enthusiast community . . .folding exactly).

I look forward to seeing your work!

Some super sweet set-ups in here. I guess its kind of a mixed bag that my desk was destroyed by the movers. The good news is that I am now in the market for a NEW desk, and this thread has given me lots of ideas. The bad news is i probably cant afford half of the set-ups I have seen here, and worse still, seeing all the sweet machines makes me want to upgrade again!?!?

So can anyone recommend me some desk set-ups for my new workstation? And if you can remember let me know where you bought your workstation.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheer

Does anyone know what the big difference is between the Galant and the Fredrik? To me they are identical other than the 100 dollar price difference and table space. Am I wrong?

the fredrik is only a rectangular desk. the galant can be customized into a corner desk or what not. it doesnt have a hutch like thing though on top like the fredrik has. if you look on the ikea site, there are a lot more options for the galant.

IIRC, Galant is modular. Fredrik you can get in different sizes, but all pretty much the same layout.

I have a Fredrik, pics in this thread somewhere.

I really like that desk. It would never work for me because its just *too* big. But, I still love it!

Nice sub placement too... hehe

Yea i originally had my computer there but when i got my Xaser it was way to big so i had to put it on the floor. I actually had to cut part of the desk out so it would fit - it was too tall.

So, throughout this thread I have seen various people with what look to be folding tables.

To these people, how do you like the table? Is it sturdy enough? Able to hold multiple CRT monitors?

Where did you buy the table? Walmart, Target? Elsewhere? If so, where?

Example

I use a 6 foot folding table like that that I got at wal mart. I had two 21 inch CRT's on it for a while and the weight caused it to bow a little but it held up fine.

Id like a little more width (current is 3') but for the price, i like it.
