Dell 2708WFP Sighting?

Sweet, too bad I don't see anything resembling the letters HDMI in that info card.

It looks exactly like the 2707 and there only seems to be 1 reply. Might have just been a typo

Static - How does your 2707 handle games? I'd prefer a 27" over a 30" if the former did well with FPS and RP games. I'm a bit concerned about the 27" higher dot pitch and lag. I'm hoping the 2708 improves on these issues.

It handles games fine, I play a lot of FPS online and I feel like the monitor isn't a factor. Ghosting isn't a problem either, I really don't have much negative to say about the monitor as a whole. Gotta say like most people I love it, I wouldn't hold off for a new model you'll like this a lot. Dot pitch is a non issue for me and lag is subjective but I find this better than my last LCD a Samsung 215TW. I see you're already on a 24" so maybe a 30" might be better for you. My friend is in a similar situation with the same size monitor and keeps saying he wants to buy the 2707 when he comes over. I ended up convincing him the 3008 was a better choice for him. Then again he doesn't mind SLI for the high resolutions and paying out the ass. Personally I would rather have a single card and a lower resolution monitor.

Thanks for the info! I'm like you in that I prefer a single graphics card solution. I'm not a rabid gamer who must have the latest, greatest SLI, 8800GTX rig. I absolutely love the styling of the 2707. I don't need/want all the inputs of the 3008. If I choose a 30", it'll be the 3007-HC.

If you love the styling of 2707WFP, how come you wouldn't choose 3008WFP? It has the same styling, even better with it's darker tone. Extra inputs can't hurt.

Very simple: PRICE :p If I can get what I want in an LCD for about $1000, then it'd be foolish to spend $600 - $900 more, depending on the 3008's always evolving price. Also, I have no interest in investing the $$ to go SLI w/dual 8800 cards to be able to run games at ultra high settings.

I was not aware of such price discrepancy between the 3007-HC and 3008 ($600-900). I only mentioned the 3008 because you said you might take the 30". Supposedly 1920*1200 looks nice on 3007s so investing in SLI might not be necessary.

I have the 2707 and as far as I can remember, 1680*1050 looked awful. I didn't go for the 30" HP because I find the pixel pitch on the 30" too small (coming from the 21" 1600*1200 LCD). The fact it costed 40% more didn't help :)

Dell sells the 3007WFP-HC for $1399, but I've seen it for as low as $1000 elsewhere. I'm just gonna wait to see if there's any definite news on a 2708. If not, then I'll grab a 3007.
