I have been tasked with building a lab in my "free time" at work. I have had the systems for a while and just got around to deploying them a little at a time...

What this thing will house is 24 q6600 workstations, 4 Dual Xeon E5335, and 4 Macs. The Macs i dont have yet, but looking at the proposal from my vendor, it looks like a brand new chip? They are quoting 3Ghz Dual Xeons.

Anyway, the bittersweet part is this...I can fold on these 24/7, SMP even, but only until I get it up to full production. Even though this is to be done on my downtime, which I rarely see, I am constantly probed about the ETA of completion.

Wonder how long I can drag this out? :p

Welp...that didn't last long.

One day out sick for me and the Network Engineer moved the switch over to another VLAN.

I would assume the clients all errored out

Oh well, I got to see a couple 30k days while it lasted

:(

You did have a great production run with lots of points, enough to pop in my radar
