4870x2 crysis w/ AA?

OK, so I recently went through a few benchmarks w/ my 4870x2. I ran 3dmark06 and scored over 20,000 (yeah!) and hit almost 8000 w/ Vantage on extreme w/ 4xaa/16xaf.

Then I went and did crysis. Ill list the results here as they are definately strange.

9800GX2 55.xx FPS @ 1920x1200 DX10 no aa.
4870x2 46.xx FPS @ same res

9800GX2 16.755 FPS @ 1920x1200 DX10 w/ 4x aa
4870x2 45.xx FPS # same res

4870x2 43.xx FPS @ 1920x1200 DX10 w/ 8x aa

4870x2 low as balls FPS @ 1920x1200 DX10 w/ 8xQ aa


Its almost like the 4870x2 gets AA for free?

the 9800 GX2 suffered from lack of memory w/ 4xaa. It was just too much data, the extra 512 on the x2 made it run smooth as butter

Im really liking the 4870x2. I havent owned an ATI card since the 9700pro. I really like the profiles offered. I can setup a profile that determines

Overclock
fan speed
what monitors in use
quality settings
etc

So like, when I want to play UT2004, I choose the UT2004 profile, and my LCD shuts off, and my CRT changes from an extended desktop to the primary and only monitor. When im done with UT, I can choose the profile "general computing" and it switches primary monitor status to my LCD, makes the CRT an extended desktop, and puts the fan to 25% and moves my clocks to 500/500 for power saving. really kool stuff.

Your Crysis numbers with 4XAA are very similar to mine.

I think where the X2 comes through is in mad levels of AA.
Nvidia cards have always done very well in Crysis and I expect them to continue to do so.
I really could care less about Crysis as a game, but it sure gives these cards a good workout.

I was able to run HL2 ep2 with 24X CFAA forced and get over 110 fps. It was crazy and looked beautiful.

Other people are having driver issues, but overall I'm OK with these cards so far. I just want something new to try them on.

Thanks. yea I posted there. seems like alot of peeps having issues. I posted what I did that may have helped keep temps down.

mine runs fine and playable at 30+ fps on 1920x1200 very high 64 bit dx10 8x (24x edge detect)

going to 8x form 4x didnt affect the fps at all

the temp thing seems to be a preference more than problem, mine hit 88 fully maxed out with the auto settings overclocked to 800 on the gpus and doesnt give me an issue

All ou need now is another one.....LOL
