In case anyone has experienced this, Fallout 3 installs something called Windows Cardspace, which is used for utilizing Windows Live. DEP (Data Error Protection) in XP Pro (or in general) might give you a pop-up upon a hard boot with the following:
"To protect your computer, Windows has closed this program."
"Name: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services"
It's a generic error that you'd sometimes see if you have a virus or a random driver issue, but I figured out that the Windows Cardspace app doesn't play nice with DEP, so if you're getting the pop-up upon boot, disable Windows Cardspace in Services, because it starts with Windows automatically and runs as a service, and that's the process to which this error is referring.
Just a friendly heads-up, in case anyone had gotten/gets it at some point after installing Fallout 3, and is/was worried about having a more serious issue.
Cheers.
