1. Gee...you don't think?
2. We knew this from the start that it was only a 2 year exclusivity deal. 3. Another one no one saw coming (in case no one can tell, sarcasm). 4. No idea on this one, they need to get that OS out as soon as possible to repair damages to their image with Vista. 5. Ding dong, the witch is dead!

All of them make sense expect the 3rd one, if you enjoy heavily compressed video/audio then online streaming is for you. I'll take the high bitrate video/lossless audio from bluray anyday.

I think it will be released, but won't be on store shelves.
Since Vista was RTM: 11/8/06; VL.: 11/30/06; Retail: 1/30/07 I think that windows 7 will come to RTM and VL in November at the earliest, but it won't be "on store shelves" until early 2010.

I agree. For a quick clip and such streaming is fine, but I don't want my whole movie in such low quality.

I have a feeling that Apple will be pushing OS X with service pack 6, I mean their brand new OS 10.6 and MS will want to capture some the holiday season of computer orders with Vista service pack 2, I mean their completely new OS windows 7.

1- BR-DVD will take off as more ISP's will impose caps on downloads, less people will be streaming...
2- AMD/ATI will anounce or release a surprise CPU that will blow the doors off anything Intel has . 3- Micron goes under or gets bought out.4- Apple suffers severe consumer backlash over "god" complex and without fearless leader Jobs, must totally restructure. 5- [H]OCP recognized as first virtual historic landmark. ![]() brian

QFT. Physical media means higher bitrates and higher quality than any streamed or downloaded file can provide.

A new PS3 can be had for $250 through Sony's credit card deal; I wonder if this sticks through a $100 price drop.

The top tier is not, and never has been, the choice of anyone but enthusiasts. Right now the standard is SDTV and highly-compressed HDTV. 4GB 720p rips are a huge upgrade to a vast majority of the population.

I'm waiting for a smartphone company to release a dock that plugs directly into a keyboard/mouse and monitor. A lot of smartphone's are capable of running basic windows functions, and as soon as apple or rim has 2 gui's in there phones, i'd be more than willing to ditch a PC or two.

All I want is more Tegra, more Android, and new GPU architecture from ATI and Nvidia.

I think the article needs to be renamed 5 business predictions in the tech industry instead. IMO the lowering price of a console or allowing a cell phone to work with another company is hardly a tech prediction.
