Man Kills Wife For Playing GTA
Some old guy killed his wife for playing too much GTA. I know, I know, the first thing that came to your mind was “please let it be Jack Thompson.” Don’t feel bad, I was hoping the same thing too.

Nothing to do with the video game, just an effed up individual. I get annoyed when my wife gets hooked on a new book or game and stays up to dawn, but I get over it and fuss at her to straighten her schedule out so I get to see her awake. Not kill her...

Seems like the person would do it anyhow, just a video game was involved and it gets blown out for that and not the fact that the guy had issues.

So he thought she was cheating on him, she told him to move out, she told him he'd never see his kids, and it's the Playstation's fault he did this?

Maybe I'm being captain obvious here, but the whole connection to GTA seems somewhat contrived, at least with the information provided.
"The court yesterday (Monday) heard how Palmer had also become convinced that she was having an affair, and went into a violent rage when she told him she wanted him to move out in November last year, threatening that he would never get to see their children again." Did a bit of research and found this. http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/n...ife.5123258.jp Reading between the lines here: Man and woman retire. Man and woman play GTA to kill time. Both play too much without doing stuff around the house or getting enough sleep or just sick of each other. Both become stressed and irritable. Marriage begins to fail. Man thinks wife is cheating. Wife offended/caught and wants husband out of the picture. Man kills wife. It just happened to be GTA, so OMG GTA KILLS AGAIN!

I will also side with the man quite a bit more.
If they were married for a long ass time and he loved her, it would've hard to watch as he slowly lost her. Having that last step of her trying to throw him thru him over the edge. It was a crime of passion. I know any woman who did the same would be treated the way I am currently treating the guy.

I love how the article headlines with "KILLED OVER GTA" but then down a bit farther mentions that she may have been having an affair, had been making him sleep on the couch to play the damn game, told him to move out of the house, and threatened to let him never see his children again.
So yeah, it's all the Playstation's fault. She was obviously batshit and pushed him to the edge, something she'd probably been doing for the last 30 years, and he went bugfuck on her. She was a selfish bitch and he either had problems in the head, or she literally put him past the breaking point with all that crap piled on top of the psychological abuse she was inflicting on him with the bedroom ousting for her new addiction. She could just as easily have been reading books with the light on, or watching too much late-night tv. I have to hit the couch when the wife does that crap to me, it's infuriating, but not enough to get stabhappy over. It's sad that the guy didn't think it through for his kids sake though

And a waaaaaay sadder story is the one in the side bar on the left inset of this story that tells about the dad who committed suicide with his children via carbon monoxide asphixiation, killing all three of them at the same time, because his wife was divorcing him.
That shit is WAY more fucked up.

We are living in sad times, this morning when I turned on the TV there was another report of a murder suicide. People need something or someone to blame, be it there family, the public or video games. Surprised there has been little on violent movies, Watchmen was downright disturbing (as it should of been).

He should have bought her another console/PC so they could play at the same time, no?
Or he could let her play at other times.

I don't post here much. But nobody's done the math yet.
Malcolm Palmer, 62 Carol Cannom, 46 Ok so there's a 16 year age difference.. No big deal right. They're adults.. Until you add the fact. "been together for 30 years" Which reduces their ages to.. 32 and 16..
