Employee Uses Video Game To Resign

Using a video game to quit your job? Although it is funny, quitting a good paying job in times like these probably isn’t the smartest thing to do. Follow the link to play the game (without quitting your job).

Quote:
Combining elements of his own creation, Polychromatic Funk Monkey, and the iconic Nintendo game Super Mario Bros, Woods' resignation game gave six weeks' notice and a simple farewell message.

HOW he did it...was funny, worth the post.

Quitting your job with unemployment as high as it is...probably not so smart.

He said it's a creative thing, not financial, so it seems like he's got SOMETHING to fall back on.

Very creative!

But wouldn't Nintendo go apeshit on his modifying their Mario Bros game?

Without getting to the last screen, I would imagine the annoying I quit transitions giving the wrong impression to his boss. Though he’s still quitting either way, so how much can you care whether or not it pisses him off.

Game industry can have talented people burn out quick just because of the work they do. It sometimes feels like an assembly line, where your job is to put that single wheel on. Best bet is to change the pace, or change the company. I know a team of people right now in this position. What he did is follow his dream, nothing wrong with that.

And to go out and do indie development is a win for the consumer. I am sick of re-hashes of franchises.

this.

though I wish I was in it long enough to burn out. hopefully now that the family mess is all but straightened out I can start looking for work in the field....unless my company offers me proper incentive to stay
