Invisibility Cloaks May Shield Buildings From Earthquakes
Let me get this straight, someone has come up with a way to shield buildings from earthquakes? I’m not calling BS on this one just yet but I live in earthquake country, I’d have to see this to believe it.

It is total fiction. The only way to shield a building from earthquakes is to isolate it from the source of vibration, in this case, the ground. And the only way to do that is to either put the building on a large vibration dampener or to remove the building from the source complete via levitation. Thank you.

The conceptual cloak will be made up of several large, concentric plastic rings affixed to the Earth’s surface. In order for the destructive surface waves to pass smoothly into the plastic, the stiffness and elasticity of the rings must be very closely controlled. The waves that travel through the cloak are compressed into minuscule fluctuations in pressure and density and are able to travel along the fastest path available. The path can be molded into an arc that directs surface waves away from objects inside the cloak by tweaking the characteristics of the plastic. As soon as the waves exit the cloak, they return to their original, larger size.
RIGGGHHHHTTTT! So it is supposedly a vibration dampener that eliminates the vibration effect but then recreates the same exact vibration on the opposite area where the vibration entered. Hrmmmm..... Either the writer needs to do some actual research or they don't understand at all what this device supposedly does or they need to stop repeating stories they hear and have no data to back it up. When this thing is put into production and actually works... and the description of how it works is straightforward and believable then I will believe their claims.

I reckon even level 8 mages dont have that ability. Should be atleast 20 before attempting something of this sort.
