seems like i have to log in every 10 minutes, i randomly get logged out in ie8 / win7. i check the box 'remember me,' so what the heck? is this someone griefing me, or a bug?

Odds are about 99% it's on your end. If it happens in more than one browser, I would look for some over-zealous security software; if it's just on one browser, maybe clear cache and do a fresh install of it.
