This is a list, compiled through information found on the internet and here locally on the forums.
As a side, I would like to also post AVERAGE PPD given per card, since I do not have all that information, if you have a specific card, please let me know your average PPD for that card so I can post its value. I will also need other information as I go, such as shaders and cores.

Important things to know about your video card and GPU folding.

1. According to Stanford, it is suggested that your card at least have a minumum of 512MB of ram, however there are cards that do quite well folding wise with 256MB or 382MB (8800GTS).
2. Remember that Pixel Shaders are key in your purchase of video cards for folding, or for thinking about folding.
3. Currently main support is focused on CUDA class nVidia GPU's and R6xx class ATI GPU's.
4. It is recommended that your video card has 16 cores, anything less can cause you to miss due dates on work units.

GPU class clients; Version #6.23: Windows XP 32-bit & 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit & 64-bit, Windows Server 2003 32-bit & 64-bit (System Tray Client, .msi installer) (System Tray Client, .msi installer w/ nVidia GPU viewer)

To view supported nvidia cards, look below.

Current ATI cards that are supported (that are known atm)
The listing of manufacturer by the board is not the only company that makes these cards, that is just to show where I got my #'s from, which card from which manufacturer, on alot of these cards, different manufacturers may have different core speeds. I went with the manufacturers that usually stuck with the normal ATI blueprint for those cards.

If your ATI video card randomly crashes during GPUv2 folding, do the following:

1) Install the GPUv2 folding client (I used the console version).
2) Uninstall whatever version of Catalyst driver you have and reboot.
3) Install Catalyst 9.4 with Catalyst Control Center and reboot.
4) Download the Experimental DLL files and extract them to desktop.
5) Go into C:\Windows\system32 and replace the three ati DLL's with the three experimental DLL's.
6) Go into your folding@home folder. Delete the TWO DLL's that correspond to the experimental DLL's. They begin with "amd" instead of "ati," so you need to delete those two and rename the experimental DLL's to begin with "amd." Make sure you don't delete the third DLL, which doesn't correspond to the experimental ones.
7) Right click My Computer > Advanced > Environment Variables. Under System Variables, create four new variables:

name value
BROOK_YIELD ................2
CAL_NO_FLUSH ..............1
CAL_PRE_FLUSH ............1
FLUSH_INTERVAL ...........128 (You can experimental with this value if you wish. Setting a lower value should help eliminate the VPU Recover error).

8) Apply the changes and relog into Windows.
9) Start folding@home and pray that it no longer crashes.

I only have one datapoint for ATi cards, and that's the benchmark: A HD 3850 gets 1500ppd. It's also what Stanford use as the benchmark for assigning point values to WUs, so it's a pretty hard-and-fast number.

Also there's another GTX 260 which has I think 216 cores.

Oh yeah. You forgot the 216sp version. I haven't seen any retailer sell the 192sp version in a long time, and even second-hand I think it's pretty rare.

But to help with the ATI part, my stock 4870 512MB gets 3190ppd on the 384-point WUs (5740-5747) and 2552ppd on the 511-point WUs (5732-5739)

There are 3 GTX260:
c192 65nm (up till last week, XFX still sold this on NewEgg as a 'core edition')
c216 65nm (805GFLOPS)
c216 55nm (875GFLOPS)

My 9600GSO (96SP, the 8800GS rebrand, not the later cripled G94 cores) gets only about 4000 PPD nowadays.
8500GT is 660PPD (solid)

GeForce 9600 GSO 384MB Version
Average PPD: 4812-5216
Core Clock (550MHz) Shader Clock (Unknown) Memory Clock (800MHz) Memory Amount (384MB) Memory Interface (192-bit) Memory Bandwidth (38.4GB/sec) CUDA Cores (96)

GeForce 9600 GSO 512MB Version
Average PPD: 4812-5216
Core Clock (650MHz) Shader Clock (Unknown) Memory Clock (900MHz) Memory Amount (512MB) Memory Interface (256-bit) Memory Bandwidth (57.6GB/sec) CUDA Cores (48)

These two should not have the same PPD. The 512 version only has 48SP and would produce far less PPD than the 384 version with 96SP.

Just fyi ;)

Also, my GTS250 gets the same amount as the 9800GTX+ you have listed (plus they are basically the same card with minor differences)

Both of those 9600GSO numbers are extremely exaggerated actually. My overclocked 9600GSOs are only doing 4300. They did 3500 at stock speeds.

4000 flat, nowadays. (stock) <-- though this is with a massive Zalman cooler + nekkid.

The 65nm and 55nm versions are identical aside from the TDP and manufacturing process. There's no difference in PPD between the two.

id like to say the 8800GT numbers are wrong.. they are a wee bit to high for stock clock.. maybe 2 years ago they were correct.. but theres no way it gets those numbers now..

its more like 3500-5000PPD at the best.. my current 8800GT @ 735/1836/1015 avg's 5000-6000 PPD depending on the WU.. 353's its been doing 5979 PPD..

oh yeah i noticed you dont have 9800GT numbers.. just copy and paste the 8800GT numbers because they are the exact same cards..

I only bothered because the calculated GFLOPS are different.

yeah the GFlops are different.. but GPU speed has little effect on folding which is why the GFlops due to the stock GPU speed being higher.. but that little difference probably only adds 25-50 PPD..

I only bothered because the calculated GFLOPS are different.
According to whom? The GFLOP count shouldn't change since the core and shader frequencies didn't change and both cards have the same number of SPs.

Wonder what kind of PPD a GT220 could pull. For $65 it could be pretty decent, especially OC'd

BTW the 220 Shader is 1360 stock

It would be the same as a 9600GSO512 since they both only have 48SP. It's a really lame GPU. Even a 9600GT stock or 9600GSO (96SP) would beat it into the ground.

I would have thought a 260 and 280 would pull much more than 6-8k. I would have thought they'd be in the vicinity of pushing 9-10k.

To be fair.... I did ask you guys for YOUR PPD... I am taking the results from forldingforum.com and some of there stuff IS 2 years old, so forgive me.

Okay, heres the deal..... I removed the PPD unless they are quoted by someone here, for instance, jeremyshaw has two quotes on cards now..... Give me YOUR card and the average PPD you get with that card, I will post them as I get them.

I want to make a helpful guide here guys for the video cards, and I want to be able to do so quarterly, updating the #'s as I go. So please help me here. I do not want to waist your time, if this isnt helpful, I will remove it.

Stock speeds on two of my 96SP 9600GSO's is 550 MHz Core, 1325 MHz Shader, and 800 MHz Memory and they are doing ~3500 PPD on 353 point WUs and ~3300 PPD on 787's.

awesome, thank you Tobit and jeremy.... thats what I wanted! :)

If I can ever get my farm stable, I'll get back to you next week. My 295's come in then too :)

Oh ok then, here's my list:

9500GT - 1600PPD
9600GT 96watt - 3200PPD
8800GTS320 - 3800PPD
GTS250 - 6000PPD
GTX260 - 7700PPD

These are all what I get on average.

Thank you Vault and Red, apprecaite it! :)
Red, your 9600GT, do you know if its 59watts or 96?

oh, it's the 96watt version, and you are very welcome! :)

EDIT: This should be stickied for future use. I've been looking for a list like this for a long time, and I know others would find it useful when looking for a card to fold with. ;)

works on quadro 4600 as well.
the ppd varies around 3000-4000

My 285s @ 648/1620/1242
They vary slightly, but for the most part...

9854 PPD on the 787s
9838 PPD on the 353s
8676 PPD on the 472s
8200? PPD on the 1888s

It's been awhile since I've actually seen them running the 1888s, so I don't recall the actual PPD according to FahMon. They complete the 1888s in less than six hours.

Thank you Kowan and DeFex for information.

Hard to find good places with the actual shaders of specific cards listed.

nVidia's website is spotty on this info, too.

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=577&card2=604

is it trustable?

It should be more so then Wikipedia.
I'm pretty sure that's BS, since my 65nm GTX260 has a stock shader clock of 1350MHz.

Both my cards are overclocked, so I don't have any stock numbers for you.
4870 at 790/4000: ~2700PPD with 511-point workunits, ~3300PPD with 384-point units.
GTX260 at 710/1512/2106: ~7300PPD with 1888-point workunits, ~7800-8000 with 353-point workunits, ~8200PPD with 787-point workunits.

Zero, thank you for the information anyway. I can still report the 4870 when I get the ATI side up. And I can post your 260 #'s as acheivable by overlocking.

It's the 216SP version, by the way.

Well, I will have numbers for 295's 8800GT's and maybe the 320 GTS next week, but for now my stock 192 shader 260's were getting 7400 before my rig went down

Also, Id put in there that you need atleast 16 cores to fold. I tried on an 8 shader card of mine, couldnt even finish a 353 in 2 days on an OC :(

THank you for the information Vaulter, editing post now.
Oh and please give me your #'s on those cards, would be very nice.
