AMD Radeon HD 5870 X2 Pictures

These spy pictures of an early engineering sample Radeon HD 5870 X2 are tasty in way that only a 13.5” dual GPU video card can be. I snagged a picture in case they get yanked, hit the link for the rest of the photos.

13.5"!!! Jesus! Man I hope they cut the size down before production. I don't see a lot of people cutting out their case to fit that card....

Would be sweet to get one of these for some Tri-fire Action.

But then ATI would need some action on tri-fire drivers and eyefinity support.

Apparently this guy is just a tad slower than 2x 5870 in Crossfire.

If this guy is appropriately priced around twice the retail of a 5870 ($800!?) that's really pricey, and if it's any lower, it's too much of a steal compared to the 5870s, again, resulting in more demand and literally no supply :\

I don't know why I have a thing for talking about electronics today as if they were people.

So now 13.5 inches goes into t he next build case spec.

How long until some start producing chassis accessories to cover the video card when it forces the drive cage out of the way and extends so lond out the front that it looks like a Karl Malden snozola!?!

That is one hell of a big card. Cant wait to see performance numbers for this beast, to see if its more efficient than 2 seperate cards in the end, or lower power draw overall.

"Bandwidth Limit Exceeded" another website brought to its knees by the power of [H].

Not only is this card going to be expensive, but you will have to also upgrade your PSU and your case.

Someone had to do it.

But yeah, that card is totally big. One day we will have cards a fraction of that size but with 10x the power/performance.

13.5 inches long! Well, I guess that cuts out the HTPC market...
