$99 Xbox 360 at Wal-Mart?

Supposedly there is going to be a deal this weekend at Wal-Mart on a Xbox 360 Arcade system that includes a $100 gift certificate. There will also be a $148 Blu-ray player on sale as well. If true, these are certainly some great deals.

Quote:
A retail tipster sends word that Walmart will be selling an Xbox 360 Arcade with a $100 gift card for $199 this Saturday. The retailer will also be selling a Sony BluRay player for $148.

I wonder if this is part of their smartening up from last year's Black Friday incident - start crazy sales early and spread out the time over periods of days instead of making it just one day where people are stampeding and killing other people.

Tempting, but not worth dieing over. Walmart is a crazy place, the holiday hot deals just add to it.

I've been thinking of getting a console. Any reason to get a built in HD over the arcade?

None are built in, they are all detachable that you can add-on to the arcade if needed.

Well well well, if this is the case I'm glad I have waited to buy a new 360. I was going to buy a new one this weekend anyway, and if this is true it works out quite nicely.

It's times like this that I wish I could break my ethical code about not supporting Walmart.

Oh well, I'll just wait to pick one up later.

Dammit that's tempting. How do I rationalize having a PS3, HTPC and then adding a Xbox?

Xbox has more game choices than the PS3 some would say.

-The 360 is the perfect Media Center Extender for your HTPC. I just started getting into it and watching/recording TV over my 360. Works very well .

- XBL beats the crap out of PSN.

- Better exclusives IMO (with the exception to Uncharted 1&2, best games EVAR!)

I have all consoles, an i7/GTX280 gaming rig, and a HTPC. I use my 360 the most out of them all, I'd say.
