pre-loading. l4d was arguably the most fun and most disappointing game ive bought in years. the main reason is that i stopped buying games. theyre too expensive. when i buy a game for $40-50, play through in 5-10 hours, and then never touch it again i feel robbed. i bought tf2 soon after it came out, for $30. one of the best investments i have ever made. l4d at $45 was incredibly fun playing with a few friends through all the missions. i had a blast! but then it was over and nothing substantial was ever added to the game. my friends stopped playing it and so did i after about 3 months, if that. i still hop on every week or 2 but i always give up after 30 minutes or so and play tf2 instead. im really hesitant about spending $40 or whatever the GB price is for l4d2, but ill give the demo a shot. what they really need to do is keep releasing updates with the same regularity and thoughtfulness as they still do in tf2, 2 years after it was released.

I preordered the game and as such have already played the demo. I loved it. If you liked L4D, L4D2 is basically an improvement in every aspect. More special infected variety, more weapons, tighter weapon feel, better sounds, different level mechanics (something other than the trigger event and get swarmed by infected), etc... I can't wait for the full version.

So to those bitching that it should have been patches and updates to L4D instead of a sequel, I fully disagree. I think it is going to be well worth $50, and it definitely feels like far more than some new maps and models.

I get the same thing, I have never seen a "Demo" where you had to buy the game to play it.

Been playing this for almost a week since I pre-ordered it. Its really fun, basically an improved version of L4D. I can't wait to play this in versus mode, the Spitter and the Charger are going to do a lot to kill survivor corner camping. Some of the new weapons are also really fun. The magnum pistol, the new autoshotty, and the machete (!) are fantastic.

What surprised me was how much the amped up the gore in this game. I haven't seen limb removal and hit detection since Soldier Of Fortune 2. It is WAY over the top. Not only that, but zombies with missing arms and stuff will keep coming at you. What really made me stop and go "wow", even more than splitting a guy right in half with the autoshotty, was hitting a zombie in the lower gut and their intestines spilled out and trailed behind them.

It was a similar effect to the smoker's tongue draping on the ground, except that instead of tongue it is miles of small intestine pulling out of the guy.

Yeah

I do, yes. Five big campaigns, new weapons, new special and common infected (SWAT armor, hazmat suits!), new game types, yeah, I'm in.

Oh yeah, and this at the end of the already awesome looking/sounding carnival campaign: http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/le...1918939038/p-2
