Google Trying Not to Cross 'The Creepy Line'
Google’s CEO says the company is trying not to cross the creepy line. I wonder if Schmidt would be so kind as to share the location of that line with the general public. You know, so we know where it is too.

lol, and Google is saying this after they made public their plans to put chips in peoples heads just so those people can google just by thinking.
Meanwhile google peruses their brain trying to figure out how to deliver better ads for them. No wonder google is helping the Communist leadership of China oppress their people, google pretty much mastered the art of sifting through peoples personal information.

Has any one looked at this "Dashboard"? Good grief!
It's one huge, incomprehensible, complicated MESS! This is like a lawyer sending you 400 boxes of stuff when you ask for information, so you can't find anything you need. It's a big pile of shit!

No shit. I want a single button marked "Don't Save or Distribute Anything."

That would be the "stop using Google" button.

Stop using Google... or how about they stop being creepy and amassing info on people when they don't need to?

Google uses an array of fairly harmless personal information (such as my affinity for watching videos of fat people hurting themselves) to generate ads that they believe I'll click on and generate revenue for the myriad of services they provide to me at no cost. Seems like a win-win to me.

I used to sweat it until I realized that a bunch of incompetent fucktards in government have been taking far more money from me than any private company, much less Google, and have consistently delivered shit layered with shit and coated in shit sauce.
Google has improved my life by leaps and bounds and they just keep delivering; this turn-by-turn navigation on my Droid is freaking pwncake and it didn't cost me anything but the same info that Uncle Ram-my-ass-daily keeps trying to get a hold of anyway. If I hadn't been reaping the benefits of Google's work over these past years, I wouldn't even believe that such a level of competence could exist in such a large institution. I only wish that Google was secretly plotting to take over the world, because that would be an upgrade that would rival going from a 286 to a Core i7 delivered by Jessica Alba coated in whipped cream.

Google is only able to offer their services for free because they make money with the data they collect. If you don't want to allow them to use your data, you can't have their free services. Sorry.

What you guys don't realize is that they acknowledge that they've already crossed that line, they're just trying not to cross it back.

I am perfectly fine with their providing context based ads for what I search for. I just don't want them logging what I do. It's simple. Which is why a long long time ago I turned off the search history "feature."

Your search is still very well logged; it's just not apparent to or searchable by you when you turn off that feature.
