People Spend Too Much Time on Facebook
I like Facebook as much as the next guy, but spending over 125 hours per year on the site? That seems a bit excessive, doesn’t it?

WTF? My work week is 40 hours. Who works 125 hours in a week?
Ignore stupid ass facebook games, ignore all facebook apps, don't collect "friends" like trophies, and it takes 10 minutes every couple days out of your life. The intardnet, OTOH, sucks up waaaaaay too many hours of my life. BB

That comes out to 21 minutes a day. There's probably people that spend a whole lot more than that here.

Yea, true. I don't use facebook for more than 10 min a week but all that extra time is taken up with gaming, so I don't think I can criticize too much...

This is the case of a dumb article getting attention via the headline. Goes to show you really can play aroud with statistics!
125 hours a year ~~ 21 minutes a day? That's a non-event. I spend nearly as much time on the shitter.

Haha, maybe for some people... everyone on there is someone I know personally.. it's just a way to stay connected with them. People change e-mails, AIM, or phone numbers, but they won't change their facebook once they got all their friends on there.
Then again it used to be myspace a few years back, and I just switched to facebook because nobody was using myspace anymore...

When you compare it to the average WoW addicts time spent playing the game, 125 hrs/year isn't really all that much. Unfortunately, as a dedicated WoW player for the past 5 years, I won't even type /played anymore to avoid doing the mental math and subsequent "I could have done XXXX instead of playing WoW for that many months of my life..."

People bash facebook all the time, but I've reconnected with people I haven't seen in 15 years. So it's worth it for me as long as they don't charge and I have control over privacy settings.

I have been known to work that many hours in a week from time to time. With that said I do not waste time with social networking sites. I do not find any appeal in them what so ever.

20 minutes a day...Some people can work in an office and just leave the browser open with Facebook in one tab. Does that make them addicts because a year they spent 500 hours on Facebook?
![]() I've played Desktop TD on Facebook for more than 20 minutes at a time - I don't think that makes me a Facebook addict, lol. It's just like checking your e-mail...If you have a lot of stuff to read, you'll easily spend over 20 minutes a day on it. Useless statistics...
