High-Tech FAIL of the Day
Some guy invents a high-tech killing machine that shocks lobsters to death instead of boiling them alive. PETA buys two lobster-shockers for a large event promoting the device. When the devices didn’t show up at the rally…PETA volunteers boiled hundreds of lobsters alive anyway to feed the crowd of hungry supporters. If that isn't the pot calling the lobster kettle black.

Such typical PETA hypocrisy
PETA is also the largest euthanizer of animals in the United States. Their shelters have a much lower placement record than all other types of animal shelters.

They should have put a live wire in the water tank -- same thing and cheaper.

PETA won't like the pictures I will be taking this weekend. I am hoping for a 8 point or above.

The only method of killing lobsters I ever saw that just downright pissed me off and made me agree with PETA was one I saw at Christmas Tree Shop a few years ago . . .
It was a MICROWAVE live lobster cooker . . . I mean . . . you put the lobster in this thing, put it in the microwave and let 'er rip. Now don't get me wrong, I love me some lobster (seafood is the only animal product I eat really), but I see no reason they should be cooked from the inside out . . . just seems a tad over the top to me ![]()

Ummm. Something didn't make sense about PETA hosting a lobster dinner as a fundraiser. Many of their members are vegan or vegetarian at the least.
According the original article, it sounds like this was not a PETA fundraiser. Instead, it was for a Child and Parent Resource Center. PETA only got involved because they protested the method of boiling so many lobsters alive. The center agreed to the new method simply to get PETA off their back. When PETA didn't come through on their end, the center did what they were going to anyway. I don't particularly like PETA (too strict and hypocritical at the same time), but the summary is misleading.

Hmm, very distantly, as they've now spread off into two subgroups of creatures. I'm sure there's some PETA members against killing cockroaches though XP

At least it's almost instantaneous. The inside out thing is a very long torturous method. It starts heating gradually and continues to do so.
With the boiling water, it's heated up almost instantly, the lobster goes into shock and dies. With microwaving, it starts gradually in the middle, causing pain and suffering, expands slowly until it cause organ damage, etc.

Do we dig a hole and put up a tombstone for when we poop the lobster out too? C'mon, just boil the damn thing!
