Ive never had any problems with windows 7 till now. At some point my pc must have rebooted last night, I see a patch was installed KB978207.

Now im getting this error every few minutes that mentions OpenDNS. I had set one of my dns entries to opendns.. but now I cant even edit the network properties.. I get an error when I try to open them up.

Conversion from string "<html>
<head>
<title>OpenDNS<"to type 'Double' is not valid

Anyone else have an issue with last nights patch?

No but its weird if you cant even open the TCPIP properties.

You can check manually @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\

This is the whole error message...

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Thats coming out of the Windows 7 network properties button?

Go check out your dhcpnameserver reg key under the path I gave above, does it include a string like 'open dns' instead of just IP addresses.

What is causing this error? That's a .NET program. Seems something is trying to cast a web page stored in a string to a double. I don't think it's anything in Windows. What else are you running?

I dont know what is causing that message to pop up. It could possibly be Firefox or chrome making it pop up. I had ventrilo running as well. Thats it. I didnt have this problem till this patch installed. It pops up when im not even doing anything. I was on the phone when it popped up the last time. I was only on this website, and my banks website on another browser.

The network properties wont open at all.

Ive deleted that file.. Microsoft Security Essentials didnt find any problem with it, but after looking that up on google it seems its part of some sornsoft software. Im not sure that is what was causing the issue or not. The error message hadnt popped up in a while (before deleting it) and the network properties magically let me open it again.. all with no actions from me. Odd.
