Dead Space 2 for the PC under consideration

Sounds good to me. I'll buy it as long as it doesn't suck. If it has a few issues, fine. If it IS one big issue, then I'll pass. :) But, that's usually my sequel policy anyway.

Come on, it's not that hard to port it to the PC.. Remember Condemned 2, the sequel to Condemned: Criminal Origins? Well, the sequel was a consoles-only game, and did not sell very well. I think that the fact that it's also available on the PC does help to promote public awareness of the game. It's kinda like advertising--if PC gamers and reviewers talk about it, it could make the game have a much greater appeal across all platforms.

Remember Spore? Only the PC version of Spore was really good, and worthy of talking about, so it really gained all of the publicity needed to sell the crappy console versions. My kids saw how good and fun the PC version was (after playing it on my rigs), and they wanted one so badly for their Wii and also their DS. I rented it once for the Wii just to show them how bad it is, and they definitely agreed! The point is that a good PC version did a lot to help the console sales of a game that really did not work for consoles.

This is a message to the game developers. If you can make Dead Space 2 even better than the first one, it will be a super-hot game for the PC, trust me. It's been so long since Doom 3 and we have all been craving such a good Doom-like game, and just Dead Space 1 is not enough. Please also make a high-res texture version for the PC game especially. You could use two DVD's for the Xbox360 version (like with Mass Effect 2) if you need room for all of those high-res textures, or just compress them for that console. Heck, you could do a massive 3 or 4 DVD's version for the PC if you really want to keep the pirates away (and also make a blu-ray version to gain even more attention, like UT2004 with its special DVD version)?

I really liked Dead Space and do think that if DS2 is any better, it would be right up there with Doom 3 in terms of popularity, first for the PC gamers and then for the rest of the console gamers.

Please spread this message around if you think it could do any good to convince the developers, thanks.

Interesting how they consider the PC version to be a mere "SKU", when it's more than just a "SKU" for us.

The long and short: Beware of anyone referring to games as "products" or "SKUs", because they just plain don't understand.

Interesting point.

That's how MS and Sony refer to their different consoles. :)

If it's a version specifically developed to take advantage of the superior capabilities of a PC,fine. If it's another quick and cheap direct port of the console version, shove it!

Sign the petition for Dead Space 2 on the PC!!!
Not interested. Sorry.

Even on the off chance that the petition is successful, what are the odds that the game -- having been developed from the ground up for consoles -- will make for a half-decent PC game? 15%? 5%? Not even that high, I don't think. So, what's the point?

fuck you EA, you aren't getting my business on the PC version after you botched it so badly last time
