WinXP SP2 and Themes HELP

I cannot seem to be able to find anything for SP2 to change windows themes can anyone help me with that.

thx for the reply....tried that and crashed the whole theme setup....messed up my computer also....ill try again though i guess

LATE but still helpfull if not already posted... Im a frequent lurker now vs an active member of past. So if so forgive me.

I was trying windows blinds to find out I dont really like it before and after my RC2 install.. Just deleted it to find my other themes didnt work either blah blah blah. Came across this post and did some searching.

Now my info came from http://www.winbeta.org/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=7&t=5190 only I tested it, organized the steps and added the problems found / solved in the thread, and refined the text bit more...

Heres what I did:

First, delete uxtheme.dll from \Windows\System32\dllcache\
*mine was already deleted*

Second, rename uxtheme.dll in \Windows\System32\ to uxtheme.old
*I had a theme.bak so I made it theme.bak2 for fun*

Third, copy the patched uxtheme.dll to \Windows\System32\

Fourth, copy the patched uxtheme.dll to \WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\

Finally, reboot...

Now also if you take a second or two to do these replacing \ copy steps you'll get a windows popup alert. Just say cancel to the message then yes to the second popup to keep the renamed file. Once the files have been copied the message stopped.

Worked 100% for me

edit: that patch posted by rombus was for an older sp2 release this is for the latest, rc2.
