512MB Video Ram is offically coming

No 3DLabs card is going to try to compete with a Radeon. They're two different cards designed for different demands of different markets.

Wasn't this made clear to you the last time you made a thread like this?

Yup totally true. While Radeons are aimed gamers (who may need 512mb ram for future games), 3dlabs are a totally different story. 3dlabs make cards for high-quality rendering, some using in excess of 10gb of aperture ram.

First step, a demo of the 512 mb tech.

Next step, R520

...a demo of 512meg tech?

...what "tech"???

they could have put 512meg on a card any time they wanted...there's no "tech" involved, it's just a matter of whether or not theirs a market for an $800 video card...over the last year, through strategic price inflation...ATi has found that there is a market...and thus they produced a card to take advantage of it...

and don't hold your breath for r520...a little early to be getting excited about that one...

EDIT: what am I thinking...please...hold your breath...;)
