ok, i've been trying to put together a database of winchesters for everyone (and so i can test a theory of mine)
however, digging through threads of winchesters that do not have all the data i need is getting frustrating, so i want everyone with a winchester to report the following:

  • model
  • 2nd line of the OPN (if you don't know the whole thing, whatever you do is good enough, but the entire line would be most helpful)
  • max STABLE overclock
  • voltage at that overclock
  • cooling type (stock, air, water or phase.. i don't need to know the actual cooling, just the kind)

if you don't have the week at the very least, DO NOT bother posting your oc. it will not go up, because the whole purpose of this is to see how various weeks and steppings overclock ;)

anything else, general comments/excuses that your chip doesn't oc as high as you want..
UNEEDED!

i just found out something interesting about the code after the week. thank OCdetective from XS for this
First Digit is either R through to X for Monday to Sunday or A through to G for same. M means mixed assembly lot.
P merely means Penang
3rd digit is the sequential batch of cores used in assembly - so if they are using the first batch for that day its an A second batch is B and so forth. M means the cores used in the assembly came from different batches.
The existence of a W for the 4th letter means mixing of wafer lots in the core fabrication was prohibited. Its absence means the wafer lots could be mixed when making a batch of cores.
0450 etc is self explanatory and is the week of assembly.
so you guys with the rare MPM, that means that you have a chip that could be from a random time that is or is not from your week.
and it explains why all the codes are xPxW

here's what i have so far. all the [H] guys are red, the XS.org members are blue :D
it's sorted by week.. if you couldn't tell.. i'll be updating it every so often.

yeah yeah, big picture. that html file was annoying me, so i took it down until i can get somewhere on what i want from it :D

stock cooler

It boots into Windows at 2.7 stock volts, but i didn't test stability. I haven't tried putting more volts through it either because i'm using the stock cooler.

Hope that helps :)

thanks guys! keep em coming

highlife, that might be your ram/memory controller ;)

and i'll ephasize now:

I run at 266x9 with the memory also at 266. Runs great. Aquamark3 is at 65000 and PCMark04 is at 4800.

currently trying to wrangle stability at 300mhz fsb w/3xHT, 133ddr ratio (200mhz 1t cmdrate, 2 cl latency) 1.7volts 2.7ghz. Voltage seems to fluctuate between 1.68-1.72 when i watch it in cpuid. 105F under after lots of benchmarking. I haven't got it to pass that damn prime95 test yet, But it sure loves to game at these settings. I'm wondering if this the celieling for my cpu or my memory or my motherboard. Sandra tells me its a athlon64 4050+.. Lame I was wanting it to be a 4200+, stoney power. :)

cooled w/thermalright xp-90 and thermaltake orange 80mm 5000rpm fan.

2.47 in my epox 9nda3+ (the motherboard is borked and wont produce a stable clock past 275fsb in any divider/multi combination, I tried it at 7x multi and 1:2 divider, and no faster than 275 fsb stable clock if anyone knows how to fix this please tell me.)

voltage: 1.45 (the lowest my mobo will go)
temps: 32-35 idle, 40-45 playing css 51 after prime95 tourture test
cooling: stock

I would imagine he is trying to figure out if certain steppings/weeks provide typically higher overclocks.

I dont have all the info off of the chip, but one of these days i'll take the HSF off and get it...it's just a pain...here's what i have though

thanks, and i'll bet it's a CBBHD :D
and as a side note, it's nice to know the max screenshot speed too, but the max stable speed is the most important to me, so don't forget it!

yeah, i'd like it if it stayed clean so i don't have to dig through conversation. if any of you have questions on oc's, take to pm's please ;)

as for the sticky.. i think more people would see it if the thread stayed at the top, but i guess bumping works too :D

1.5V 250 1:1 = 2.25ghz

This is the max stable I can get out of it, even when using ram dividers. Just got a 3200 in which is also 0503 ..hope i can hit 2.5

Can we get an avg overclock? I can tinker with the XLS if you want to make it all fancy and crap.

i'm working on it.. that's just pure data.. i have some things planned.
hopefully a way to sort by week, stepping, max oc, average oc.. ect.
maybe even a graph or two based on week/voltage.

Cool.. I know PHP and am framiliar with JPGraph if ya need help...

:( Max Stable, I'm too embarassed to post my week 51.

However, I did get to 2.6ghz 1 min prime stable :D

heh, my clawhammer can get to 2.6ghz unstable.

and don't be embarassed. i feel like there are a lot of people who are holding back from submitting because their chips aren't 'up to par' but all that's doing is skewing the data...
so..

PLEASE! POST YOUR OC'S!

Saving this spot for when I get my new RAM.

Max current OC is 2475Mhz ( 225x11) which is where my ram takes a shit (it has in all the systems it was in prior to this one as well). With new memory (and W/C that is in the works) I will post a new Overclock, hopefully closer to 3ghz. *prays*

It's a A64 3500+ Winchester

Max overclock that I have tried right now:

2.2Ghz (245x9) at 1.4V. I can't get my machine to run Prime95 at 2.4 Ghz. Should I increase my Vcore, and what's the safety limit? I've read around 1.5 Vcore is the limit.

this thread makes me sad i got a CBBID, psh 2.4ghz oc's with some really high volts god. anyone want to trade lol. god seemes i got fucked even more i would have ordered months ago if fucking msi could stock there boards decently and probably ended up witth something better then a week51 CBBID

ok, just because i'm a needy sob, PLEASE include all of this data! :D

I have a A64 3000 running on a shipping damaged DFI NF4 Ultra D
Original Bios

CBBHD 0447 TPEW (or TPAW)

Stock voltages
275 * 9 = 2475 mhz

HTT @ 4 * 275 = 1100 and I'm very stable
Isn't this number suppose to stay below 1000?

Stock cooling (haven't install my xp90 due to damaged board)
I haven't finished the OC by any means, I will update as I increase.
This would not even post for many attemps. The switches were smashed off the board. I bent the board very slightly opposite the damage impact and straighten the broken pins and wiggled all the caps. Board posted and has been stable ever since. Still haven't found 1 of the springs yet.

By the the looks of your chart, I can expect good things to come.

3000+
CBBID 0503EPJW
2.4Ghz Prime95 stable (9x267)
1.55v
Stock cooling w/ AS5 - 32C idle, 38C load

I can run SuperPI and CS:S at 2.55Ghz at 1.55v, but fails Prime very fast. Max unstable I've done is 2.6Ghz, fails to complete SuperPI and gave a BSOD under Prime95. Haven't tried really pushing the volts to see if it can handle a stable 2.6Ghz yet.

Was really hoping for 2.5Ghz at a reasonable voltage, so a little disappointed. Still, it is only stock cooling.
