QMD cores. Timings
I keep hearing that these QMD proteins benefit a lot from dual channel DDR. If that is true, another good reason to be moving onto s939.
Can anyone actually confirm this in their rigs. I mean do a small benchmark of a few frames to see if this is true.? My parents were getting tired of their old Dell and I was planning to give them my current rig and move up the s754 ladder, but I might reconsider moving to s939 if this dual channel thing is true.

Those QMD cores are great on my rig. Lot of points for 30hrs or something like that.

My P4's love them QMD's. Bus speed seems to play a major role, making dual channel a given. Here's a clip from 3.2E@3.6 900FSB:

Another thing of interest to note, is that instead of jumping steps, this new core in both of these instances. Not only did not skip a step, but added a larger number to each step. Interesting to see a similar post, using a dual channel AMD64. ^^^ Leadman, thanks for your logs. Very intersting stuff, dual channel improves times on these QMDs by at least 30% on Intel systems. Wonder how LGA775 w. 1066 FSB stock will do.
Sad thing is that these they have not implemented these QMDs on A64 systems but they will soon. The main reason for looking into benchmarks is for me and any other [H]ardfolder to look into folding performance on these QMD cores. They really seem to be the future for folding but I doubt we will see the end of Gromacs and Tinkers anytime soon. Hopefully, when they bring out the A64 performance on these QMDs, I will actually justify the extra cost of upgrading to s939. ![]()

Man, that thing loves QMD's even more than my rigs. Went over to chat with to folks a overclockers, and drop an [H] here and there
, seems a lotta folks having trouble with these 450 pointers. RAM and AMD issues had folks putting 49+ hours into one of these babies. One chap complained that his HDLED stayed lit. Paging non-stop. yikes. If you got a GB or more of RAM, turn off Virtual Memory for heavens sake.![]()
