i thought of similar at once.

howver with both fans right at eachither? do they not speed eachother up?

no, the longer looking fan is only a duct, fan parts are removed. there is only the amd fan runnin at 7V.
for a better view (if you look closely you can see the screws, they are at approxx the half hight of the heatsink)

took the 2 old and loud fans out of the enermax psu and replaced them with one silent 120mm at the bottom

Ahhh the good ol days of ghetto mods. I remember. Those were the most fun.

what made you decide to have one fan sucking air in from the bottom of the psu instead of one fan pushing air out from the back of the psu?

global fear is right,
original there were 2 fan's in it, 1 80mm in the back and one 90mm (temp controlled) in the bottom. after about 2 years of usage the fans didn't run that silent anymore so i decided to change both against one bigger "silent" fan. works great btw.

cpu run's about 7 C° cooler than stock.

most improvement was the gfx cooler. enabled a +30mhz overclock and dropped noise level to nearly unhearable.
