I've played with a couple of mobos using the ATI chipset (one was the Shuttle ST61G4) and they both seemed to undervolt a bit. Did you happen to notice if this system was undervolting and perhaps that was the source of the instability?

Also, I had a ton of issues with the first ST61G4 I bought. It wouldn't initialize firewire, LAN, or on board video drivers. Also, it would randomly BSOD. I RMAed the unit and got a new one that seemed to work fine (although still undervolted). Perhaps you just got a bad system.

huh wot under volt... so u stuck volt meter in random places right and rebooted and saw the v's drop right?

ie . in the +5 and 12+ molexes ?

no, I'm talking about the Vcore and Vdimm voltages read in the BIOS/monitoring software. Everything seemed to be about 0.1V low.

i noticed the same problem with my st61g4, but i flashed the bios to a different version and it totally fixed the problem...

so this is more liekly to be either bios reprting the in correct info. wot memory r u using.
