ATi x850xt AGP $354.99 after MIR

Well, it's a toss up, the X850XT is the fastest around, if not counting maybe the PE edition, but if you don't have a TV tuner and the AIW cost the same with negligible game performance difference, it might be a good choice instead. A TV Tuner is real nice when you have a 2nd screen so the TV window doesn't get in your way. If you don't think you'll use it just get the X850 XT and if you ever need a TV tuner they're $50 and under.

Maybe wait until Tuesday when Nvidia is suppose to launch their next generation cards, which might be twice as fast, but costly if supply is low.

Couldn't have said it any better.

I bought the AIW XT version for the TV and media functions and gave away my tv tuner and previous graphics card.

the main difference between the two is that the X850 has pixelshaders of the new generation. 3.0, instead the X800 only has 2.0 which was very stupid on ATI's part...

You are mis-informed, good sir. The X800 and X850 lines both had SM2.0 support only. Neither line carries the ability to use the SM3.0 line of shader commands. The R520, the new high end graphics line from ATi will have SM3.0 support, the main 'negative' towards the ATi line at the moment.
