I just came from a meeting with microsoft and although we couldn't get alot of the info it appears that VISTA will incorporate all of the features of "Xp" and of "XP TABLET"..
Microsoft sees that an awful lot of people will enjoy the pen based features that the tablet os offers. and that includes the assumption that an a major number of manufactuers will start incorporating pen based technology ( touch screen) into the lcd's in the near future by default Personally I love it. I currently sell and use a motion tablet BUT ( theres always a but) when we asked about including MCE features we got a non-commital answer. It seems that some feature will come but that they expect to have a "number" of versions available
Currently we've got
Xp home
xp pro
xp mce
and tablet os which is more of an overlay to any of the above then a standalone
xpx64
From my meeting it appears that MS is going to continue will the multiversion senario and may even increase the # of choices..
so it may be possible to buy "xp vista home" with or without MCE support... ETC ETC ETC
