No such thing as the 2006fpw, it's the 2007fpw and it's coming Feb/Mar time frame.

It's supposed to support HDCP and I believe it's supposed to have a faster panel, but I do not have any hard specifics to support that. 2407fpw is coming out in the same time period.

Oh, and the reason it's not the 2006 is because the xx06 monitors are already shipping. I have a 1706fp sitting on my desk right now. The xx07 should follow accross the entire line of Dells. 3007fpw is supposedly shipping in Dec.

Is the 3007fpw going to be competing with Apple's 30" or is this going to be another large screen with a pathetic 1366x768 resolution.

I think the only large LCDs with that 'pathetic' resolution are TVs, not computer monitors(at least as their main function). Thats not a bad resolution for a TV, full 1080 would be better but its not bad

forget the 30" yes its big but its running a non-standard resolution, it will be great for work/CAD etc... but for gaming at that native resolution is gona be a problem. Games are starting to support widescreen resolutions and the 1920x1200 is better IMO (for gaming that is), anything higher is going to hamper performance for the latest games.

Interesting...that is an old part number though, I've seen the Dell Matrix and there is no mention of a 2006FPW.
