Hello all, I'm having the worst time of my life trying to understand why C19 based mobo's have an issue that only i seem to have identified? Currently running the P5ND2-SLI Dlx tried BIOS 0605, 0708, 0802 (back to 0605) Pentium 630 2x Gigabyte GV-NX68T256DH (SLI) watercooled the NorthBridge on dedicated system watercooled CPU (Alphacool).

I've tried OCZ GOLD 6400 (DDR2), Transcend 533-DDR2 2048MB, Corsair 5400UL, Crucial Ballistix 5300 Tracer. tried thes on the Gigabyte GA-N8-SLI Royal too, with the same results. No matter what speed the memory is running CPU-Z, Sandra, Everest, etc, all read the frequency by 1/2 or 1/4th. Below I've included a photo of my BIOS screen where I booted into 1066MHz FSB (CPU) and 775MHz DDR2, yet in the cropped screenshots below you'll find some odd data. Sandra bandwidth reads 6400MB/s while running at a 1067MHz FSB QDR or "4x 267MHz.." YET the memory speed reads: " 2x 194MHz (388MHz data rate)" Note the Maximum bandwidth readings and CPU-Z reading 193.9MHz at 11:0 ratio? This is NOT an isolated insicdent as this has happened with every readfing I've taken across two mobo's, four sets of memory, two CPU's, and three graphic cards both in SLI and Normal mode.

Yeah, the first C19's had that problem, amoung lots of other problems.....Try the new revisions of the C19 (which actually overclock to boot)

What concerns me is that of the multiple reviews of the Asus P5ND2-SLI Deluxe, not one Reviewer mentions that Sandra, CP-Z, Everest, etc. are reading the memory speed at 1/4th or 1/2 of the actual speed set in the BIOS?

There's even a screenshot from one site where the CPU-Z is correctly displaying the memory frequency? This is almost impossible as I've spent several hundred hours testing 2 P5ND2's and a Gigabyte GA-N8-SLi Royal, and all (regarless of BIOS versions ro montioring software versions) misread the memory frequencies?

Is there a fix? And why haven't any Reviewers delved into this? For example check out the screesnhot below which shows the difference on a Gigabyte C19 board from my testing....

Here is my highest memory speed with my P5ND2:

ddr2700.gif

Its only reading it as 175x2 but actually its 175x4. The C19 chipset does that for unknown reasons.

THANK YOU!!!
I really and sincerely appreciate that reply. Your the only person whom bothered to present some of his/her own data to help me verify this anomaly. While it might seem my excitement around this begs the question; "Does he get out much?" I simply needed empirical validation. Thank you!!!

Now can we fix it? You deserve a free Swiftech H20 VGA Cooler for that reply....
