Free Computer Shopper Magazine Subscription

Looks like a scam. I went to www.rewardsgold.com and it has nothing on it except their name in text. A whois of the domain reveals that it is a private registration, why do they need to hide? A Google search shows nothing but free magazine deals from them. How and why are they giving away all these free subscriptions?

I'm tempted to sign up for another throw-away email address somewhere, then sign up for this thing with it and see if the spam starts rolling in. I bet it does.
 
According to another "deals" site, it looks like they were offering a free subscription to PC Mag at one time too. People reported that they got that mag. It might be a scam, but I didn't use my real e-mail address so who cares. I can throw away more junk mail just as easily as I throw away the stuff I get now. It will also be interesting to see what comes to my cat's name.
