Ok will give that a try. Update: aquakeytest and another program that i tried but the kybd doesnt work. i did the led test w/ aquakey and the number and cap key lit up but nothing else happened. so i can assume this kybd is dead. Any takers for it?

nope it didnt work. thought i would go the WD support to see if it is still under warranty and luck would be that it is until 2025. UPDATE: WD will be sending a replacement after i send in the WD P10 hdd.
