I guess but also like...no other games really come to mind that actually do what you're asking.
This game has GOTY potential for me based on how much I liked the first one, probably end up being between this and the Elden Ring Erdtree expansion. Feeling like a good year.
same shit going on with Helldivers 2. it's funny that we've come so far and yet this seems to happen with so many games when they launch. i've had this game for like 2 years and played without issue, launches, doesn't work, no interest in playing anymore.
on a JRPG kick lately, just finished Persona 3 Reload over the weekend. 92 hours in 14 days, the last game I played that long / quickly was Elden Ring. Dunno why, but the game was just fun and flowed well for me.
Most people have given up on MMO's. The market is so small for a hardcore PVE centric MMO like Pantheon. I really want that game to succeed but lord knows at this point. Even if it does come out, I struggle with the thought of being able to participate in a way that isn't just purely casual...
Can't wait until we go full circle and see a mass influx of people start resubscribing to cable because their packages end up cheaper than the piecemealed streaming networks.
Definitely the best of the best in the genre.
I'll add some of my other favorites (Action Roguelite mostly):
Astral Ascent
BlazBlue Entropy Effect
Curse of the Dead Gods
Death Road to Canada
Rogue Legacy 1 and 2
Sekiro and Lies of P share a commonality in the form of guarding/parrying. Both require you to learn this and use it extensively. You can get through any Dark Souls game dodge rolling without parrying a single time, and taking that mentality into Sekiro or Lies of P is tough for a lot of people...
I've been running Pieta's sword, RAD build (with enough STR for a good shield) with Radiant Weapon buff since I was able to equip it after getting the Bowl of Remembrance and enough Scouring to buy it from the NPC. Never once questioned even changing weapons and the game has not been that tough...
i'm about 17 hours into the game and there haven't been any big difficulty spikes yet, thankfully. all of the bosses and mini bosses are very well telegraphed and you can learn them quickly and feel satisfied from beating them. if anything, it could be considered a little too easy for some, it's...
I mean they did QoL. Switching between melee and ranged is finally less of a hassle. The combat itself is fluid, and not clunky like older titles. The umbral is a scary proposition in some regards, as you can become overwhelmed by overworld and umbral enemies simultaneously, and the longer you...
My only disappointment with the game is that they really screwed up with advertising Crossplay and it has not worked since day one. That is a huge miss, as I bought the game with a buddy on PS5 to play together. We've already decided we'll just try to play NG+ together instead and gave up on...
