I agree with spotpuff - my monitor was $900, for that it MUST be perfect!.
Why not buy from a shop instead of online - tell them you want to check for DP's before you leave the shop (hehehe, AND before you give them your credit card...)
Well, I'm very very critical of the lcd's I've researched, and I love my new lp2065.
I said to the store that I'm going to check it on one of their computers, and itf it's not perfect, no sale.
It was perfect. i got it home installed the driver then went to set it up with the colour gamma...
Instead of thinking of it as a lcd monitor with usb up/down, think lcd monitor with integrated 4 port usb hub.
The lead goes from pc to monitor same as from pc to external hub, all the devices (mouse, gamepad, etc) now plug into the monitor (in place of a hub).
Usless with modern MB's with...
Well, EVERY 19 and 20" widescreen I looked at was smaller in height than my 19" crt.
That's one reason I hate widescreen.
I mean, 1680 x 1050?? I was running the 19" at 1280x1024, so wide was 26 pixels higher, and of course wider.
Now I'm on 20" lcd 1600x1200, wide screen is only 80...
I finally got my LP2065!
(Bloody Australians - they think it's normal for it to take a week to get something from 75Km away!)
It's an S-IPS panel. Very happy with it.
Lovely colours, plays Just Cause and GTA Andreas without any blurring. So easy to set up (I'd already downloaded the HP...
I'm here in Western Australia, and have just ordered a LP 2065.
It should be in the shop tomorrow, where I'll do a dead pixel test before paying for it. I'll also check the panel, and if it's not a s-ips, they can send it back.
I'm not paying $930 for a pva/mva panel!
Usually when graphic cards talk about 32 bit they mean 24 bits colour (8 each red green blue, same as the 8 bit/pixel lcd monitors) and the other 8 bits is alpha channel, transparency.
Theres also the Philips 200p7eb, which is my final choice for what appears to be an excellent monitor outside USA.
Why? Well, the usa model is the p7eb/27, it's a pmva panel. In Australia they sell the /75 which is a s-ips panel.
For ONCE Australia gets something first or better then the...
Well, according to that they're the same, but one's a 'rebate' model.
I'd still be unsure though - why make two different part numbers just to give a rebate (to track how many, maybe?).
Two things I've learnt in all my research (and I've done a shitload) into buying an lcd are:
1) DON'T...
From what I've seen from some of the in-depth tests, at other techy forums/websites, quoted ms figures can be out but HEAPS.
One test was on a mva panel with 8ms quoted - came out at 45ms on darker tones, dropping to 16 at mid tones, an 8 and lighter tones.
There's no real regulation...
