You can, but I would just do an eye scan with the programs you usually use. If you need a program to find it then leave it be imo.
Here is a program that helps you locate and attempt to fix.

I really like this Hannspree HF289H, but the first one had one dead pixel. I tried the various fix methods but no luck.
Today I went to BB and picked up a second...it has 2 dead pixels.
How many is acceptable? One? Two? Zero?
Yeah, its 1920X1200 which works much better for my eyes than the 30". Games are great on a 30", but Outlook at 2560 makes my eyes bleed. This Hannspree is a nice compromise.
Ok, I bought one of the last 281's off the floor at BB and liked it very much. Main complaints were poor representation of dark greys/blacks and some un-uniform back light (edges).

More tests reveal some bright spots on left center edge, top center edge, and left center edge on a black screen. Not a guru so not sure how to judge how bad it is.
I decided to go to BB and check this 28" out. I was very skeptical that this monitor would fill the gap between my current Dell 24" and my friends 3007 which is beautiful, but I find it difficult to read text on the 30" at the 2560 resolution. Text at lower res on a 30" looks like crap and using...
