All of my early ending units have been from either switching between the linux/windows client... always seems it ends up getting a new WU when I do that. Also from rebooting n stuff.
You, sir, have a problem! I wish I had that kinda cash to be buying up these things left and right.
Keep up the good work, it's inspiration for us all! :)
Nah, me and PenguinComp both have the same setups, basically. He has 2 of them however. The LV Xeons are low heat/voltage (like a mobile XP or a64) meant for Rackmount systems. Just put them in a regular case, do a slight mod to get them to normal Xeon voltage (1.55vcore) and up the FSB til it...
Well the Xeons are up. So far, running @ 3.1ghz each
Soooooo...
18880 - 2200 = 16680
If I pump them up further, to 3.2 or 3.3ghz I'll come back to update. :)
I got almost 4 ghz of overclocking, possibly more.
2x 2ghz lv xeons
1x a64 3500
1x axp-m 2500
1x xp 1700
worst overclocker of the lot is the 3500, at a measly 466mhz. xp-m will do about 700mhz above stock, and xp 1700 will do about the same, 650 or so. Xeons should hit 3ghz each at...
Dual Xeons: $159
Intel Windtunnel HSFs: $25
Asus PC-DL: $179
Praetorian: $108
Enermax 550w PSU: $123
RAM: $free. I had it already, but it retails about $135 now.
Slap in any HDDs / Graphics card and you're set.
This was my weekend project... but not all the parts are here yet. Penguin is shipping me some Intel Windtunnels tomorrow, and the Enermax 550w EPS12v PSU will be here tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I'll be on my way to Pennsylvania for a funeral. :(
Anyway, here's what I have been up to...
