What a very interesting response ... how defensive and aggressive at the slightest hint .... Hmm !!!
Lets look at your initial post: you say that the monitor is totally done it ? How ? If you really did overcook the T-Con logic board (which of course is totally possible) then at most you...
Well if you take the necessary steps of adding some extra cooling, it should be fine for a long time to come Having said that, there is no guarantee, only time will tell.
I am not a fan of John, as he has been pretty much acting like a scalper & spammer in one. Those cards he is selling for...
Still spamming this forum with your overpriced merchandise. Ha ha, nice price drop -- not. Could it be cause I posted the really easy fix (if you know what you are doing) in this forum or that I revealed in the 305t thread that a replacement LCD panel (which includes the logic board) is...
One eBay seller posted exactly what is wrong with the boards (after getting into an argument with the other seller).
Anyways, neither of those sellers were the *original* repair guys - man, it pisses me off when people claim that. What proof do they have of it - just 'cause they bragged...
Yeah, that seller is making a killing off of those cards - it's a complete rip off. I am surprised he managed to even sell them. Same guy is buying up all the broken ones and reselling them for much more. ( [some/all?] 305t have the same logic board as the Gateway XHD3000 monitor).
FYI -...
I would be worried there. If you smell ozone, that could mean arcing from the high voltage power supply - loose backlight connection, crack on circuit board, etc. Could be a fire hazard.
Yeah, right ... more like 1/2 hour tops if you know what you are doing. 1hr if you have done anything similar in the past.
1. Unplug everything
2. Unscrew base, speaker board (if you have it) remove all the screws holding the connectors
3. Use an old plastic card to gently pry open the bezel...
You know, I had to log into hardforum just to refute your claim. You are NOT the only person who can repair these, just claim to be.
I fixed the XHD3000 two months before you even identified the problem with the monitor (yes, I did see your postings on Youtube).
And people, just so you know...
What do you know ... I come lurking back here and there is an interesting 30" monitor thread. BTW, a 30" 3280x2048 panel does exist out there (and its even an IPS one), and so does a monitor supporting it. Too bad it costs both arms, legs and a kidney...
That is interesting. I have glow no matter what brightness level I choose though it gets worse (obviously) the brighter the setting. Could you please share with us what your manufacturing date and firmware version is? I wonder if they are finally using LG's latest panel revision.
One thing...
