I know that the iPod can be used as a mountable hdd, I have one. I meant that it has to be set to it, because by default, it is not a mountable hdd, IIRC.

I've never heard of transmitting a virus over an iPod. Firstly, the iPod would have to be set as a mountable hdd, I believe. Also, why would I virus target your iPod? It would target the system directory on your PC instead. I think you may have got it from somewhere else or your friend put it on...

Ermm....yes, I know about linuxiso.org, but that doesn't help me decide which distro to use.

As a matter of fact .... I was hoping someone would recommend a Linux distro. Is there one better for setting up a file server than another. And are there any links on how to set it up with linux. I'm not too familiar with it other than using it occasionally for fun.

Recently, I've lost audio from stuff like Quicktime, Real Player, and when I watch videos and stuff inside the browser. The weird thing is the audio still works with Winamp. Any clues? edit: btw, I'm on a laptop

I was running a beta for a few days but got rid of it b/c it wasn't compatible with some of my programs (stylexp in paticular)

The Max 3 has an 875 chipset whereas the p4p800 has an 865 chipset. Also the Max 3 has some features the P4P800 doesn't have, like 6x sata And I wouldn't say abit is better than asus, but in this case, the abit motherboard seems to be better overall.

I currently have only one SATA drive and am not planning on getting any more in the near future, so thats not a problem. Bugalaman -- if I could afford a MaxIII, I would get it. Just because the Max III is a better board doesn't automatically mean every other one sucks. :rolleyes:
