I'm using memtest86+ and after about 10 passes, I'm getting test #1 and test #7 errors. What do this errors mean?
I've been to the OCZ official forums first thinking it was my memory, but they seem to be suggesting that it is more in line with the CPU. Also, I'm starting to believe them...
Ok, I found the problem and I can reproduce it consistently now. The problem is when the computer goes to sleep after a set amount of time.
Vista does some odd things when making the computer go to sleep. Like underclocking my processor and stopping the CPU fan. Luckily, it spins back up...
Well.... the thing is that a simple restart fixes the problem. I installed MBM after this started happening. So I have the feeling that somehow, vista is enabling Cool 'n Quiet somehow, even though I have it disabled in the BIOS. And somehow slowing the CPU down is actually making my...
I have no idea about it turning the CPU fan speed down... MB monitor is acting strange in Vista. It's reading my CPU fan speed between 1600 and 32000. But most of the time it stays between 9000 and 12000, which I know is wrong. That was working fine in XP.

Yeah, I was just checking that. I have it disabled. I also found this other option called thermal throttling and I already had that disabled as well. Can windows vista somehow be overriding this?

Now my problem is that if I leave my computer idle...
I have an Athon X2 4400+ at 2.52Ghz.
Timedemo: Necro666
Resolution: 640x480
Quality: High
without smp: 104.1 fps
with smp: 159.8 fps
That's around a 53.5% improvement in performance!
I usually play at 1280x1024 in widescreen mode, since I have a dell 2005fpw and they don't have...
Yeah, i'm very happy that I finally have a stable system again... no crashes for a while now, thanks again, I'm very sure it was the ethernet drivers now.
I have tried running memtest86, underclocking, upgrading to a 600W power supply, and my computer randomly freezes. It seems to happen more often while playing games. But it still happens when I'm just browsing the web or reading hardforums. There are no blue screens or anything, I wish there...
