    Bad Opteron 6174

    I just got this cpu from Ebay and to test it, I swapped my cpu2 from my running 4p 6174 Supermicro system and the bios sees only 3 cpus. Did the same thing by swapping with cpu4.     4P 6174 underclock

    My barebone system SUPERMICRO AS-1042G-TF 1U with 4 6174 now running at 1.8GHz. It has [H] bios and OC 10%, and was running for a couple of weeks at 2.4GHz. Cpus has passive heatsink and system fan speed was set to balance, because fulspeed was so noisy. I did not check cpu temp accurately...
