You can't edit clock speeds in the BIOS on 69XX cards. The RBE team have mentioned it a number of times over there. There is some kind of protection in the drivers which stops custom BIOSes with changed clock speeds from booting. You can changes voltage is believe, and do the 6950 to 6970...

I haven't found a way to lower my load Vcore without also lowering my idle vCore, but my 2600k happily runs at 1.6GHz @ 0.800v under idle so i'd say you may have some headroom to go lower.

The biggest problem i see with such a setup is the 256MB of video memory. That could be a real issue in any new game with high texture detail or once AA is turned on.

SLI/Crossfire doesnt multiply memory though, even with 4 of them you'd only have 1GB of total usable video memory :p.

Good read, but could i ask why the 8800 GTX clock speeds are always listed as something random in these reviews. No, it wont make up for it. Your system memory is much much slower and takes much much longer to access than the local GPU memory, so it wont matter how much system RAM you have, you'll still take the hit from the lack of GPU memory.

If these are the same 30A figures that were being talked about before then it means 30A are required for the whole system, not just the video card. And yes, whatever load of that is for the video card will be split over the 2 connectors no doubt.

Your monitor is almost certainly running at 75Hz, not 120Hz. Theres hardly any lcds on the market that run at more than 75Hz. Its probabaly just windows veing stupid and thinking your lcd can do something it cannot. All other programs are likely to be just reading the setting from windows, not...

Im not sure what the max temp a conroe can take it, but once your getting much over 50C your gettiing too hot. 55C really is the max you'd want to run at under full load. You'll need better cooling before you push anymore, if anything you may want to back off alittle till you do so.

He is full of it. A Radeon 1900XTX draws 120 watts in gaming. OC'ed will use more yes, but even 2 stock would barely be touching 24A from the 12v, lets alone one. They do use alot more than the 7900GTX does, but if someone at ATI is telling you it uses 24A per card then they deserve to be fired...

The XTX wouldnt need 24 amps on teh 12v rail. That would be 288 watts alone, plus the other its uses pushing it over 300w. An X1900 anything doesnt need 300w of power (and thats triple the 7900 GTX uses).

Maybe it just me but im not seeing this insane detail, infact the ground/wall textures are clearly of low res and there isnt alot of detail to them at all. Thats no more (perhaps even less) detailed than WoW is and much less detailed then other games.

The 12ms g2g isnt that bad. I have one and it will produce alittle ghosting while the pannel is cold, but once its warmed up after alittle while i get no ghosting at all, even in FPS games.

The only thing that should output in stereo (or not at all) over digital on an Audigy is DVD-Audio (not to be confused with DD5.1/DTS). Everything else will either output in multi channel or you can use the card to up mix it to multi channel if its a stereo source. Even the live could upmix...

I dunno, to me the 300W figure seems very far fetched. In the past few gens both ATi and Nvidia have been able to increase performance by 50-100% without increasing power usage at all (or much anyway). While DX10 cards are going to be alot more complex and a higher power usage is to be expected...
