I just got my SA850 and it's right next to my Dell U2711. I'm definitely not impressed with the brightness or the quality of the whites on this monitor. Going to use it for another day or two and then ship it back to Buy.com.
Very cool.. XenServer is pretty easy to manage, but you just need to get comfortable with it. The big decision with the introduction of XenDesktop5 is the option of utilizing MCS (Machine Creation Services) or PVS (Provisioning Services) to deploy your virtual desktops. MCS is more heavily...
Yeah, by far most XenDesktop deployments are done with VMware the backend, especially for the infrastructure components. The reason for this is customers are very comfortable managing a VMware environment. Many customers are beginning to use XenServer to host the actual Windows 7/XP VMs though...
Hey farscapesg1,
Feel free to post any XenDesktop/Citrix questions here or PM me. I'm a consultant at Citrix and have done lots of XD deployments. To start off, I would check out some of our reference architectures...
Just ordered one off Buy.com! Let's see if it really ships out.. Says 45 day return policy, so if it sucks, should be able to return it.
Update:
My CC company denied the charge for some reason and now Buy is out of stock.. ERRR
Citrix XenApp works great for delivering Microsoft Office to tons of devices running different OS's (Linux, iOS, Android etc). The protocol it uses, ICA, requires much less bandwidth than RDP.
Most people wouldn't consider it for a non-enterprise environments since it requires a backed...
The Linux software raid was fairly easy to manage, but I wanted to use a hardware raid card to get faster rebuild times in case a drive died. md atleast was able to be managed somewhat via the web-based GUI in webmin, unlike the PERC card which I manage via command line. There is some DELL OMSA...

Just got my 2nd replacement 2407 from Dell and it still there are dead pixels! It's almost my second week with the LCD so I will probably just return it and start the process all over again.
I got my 2407 last week and I'm very happy with it except for the red stuck pixel on the right corner. I'm having a hell of a time contacting Dell support to do an exchange. Since LCDs don't have service tags I don't seem to be able to use their online chat to talk with someone. I might just end...
I'm also interested if anyone else here uses the LCD arm. While I was looking for LCD arms, I came across this image that I believe shows the mount you linked to:

I just recently bought the Samsung LN-S4095D. For the price (I got it for $1800 w/ tax) it's probably the best 1080p LCD for the price.
This Samsung model along with their cheaper 720p sets use 10-bit panels which put out 12.8 billion colors, a huge increase from most LCD panels that are...
A vast majority of the people who get the laptops notice some light leakage. It wasn't until after I ordered mine did I read all the reports. (Dell ships their laptops with different screens LG, Samsung, and another company). So not everyone who gets the laptop will have the same screen lol...
I just got my E1705 earlier this week. (a little less than $1400). While it's easy to carry around and use on your laptop, it's not the kind of laptop I would bring to class to take notes on. That's meant for 15' and below laptops.
I've VERy pleased with the laptop though. My main uses for...
Gaming on the Samsung 730B 17' 8ms LCD is great. While the blacks aren't perfect it's an all around good monitor and well worth its price. I know Samsung's 4ms LCD in the form of the 730BF is out in Australia now, but I have no idea when we will see it in the states.
The Samsung 730B is the best gaming LCD I've ever used. The difference between it and a 16ms LCD is very noticeable. My only complaint about the LCD is that mine has had some issues with "Image persistance" (images getting burned onto the screen, but then they go away after awhile). Mine might...
I actually ordered the LCD from a guy on Ebay lol.. It's coming on Friday.. I'll let you guys know how it is. Probably do an entire review for my website.
crap... Really sucks.. NEC makes a LCD with the same panel, but it's $300 more, it's ugly, and has an anoying glossy screen. Thought I would be playing Q4 at 1600x1200 in another week :(. Any idea how long it will take to release the revision? How can samsung be so stupid...errr
I called 4 websites this week asking for an ETA. Monitors Direct told me they should have some in stock the 10th. I usually like to buy LCD from the local store even if they are a bit more expensive because of the dead pixel issue, but I can't see BestBuy getting this LCD right away.
Read up on the Samsung 214T. It's a 21.3, 4:3, 8ms, 900:1 contrast, 300brightness LCD. It has the same design as the 204T and the 213T. I just made a post today if anyone here on the forums has the LCD to tell how it works, but nothing yet. As you can see though, the specs are a lot better than...

I've seen this LCD discussed a bit on the forums, but I don't think anyone who might have bought it yet has shared their experience with it. Most websites which list the LCD have it...
I love my Samsung 730B (8ms, DVI, 600:1 contrast, 300brightness)... I previously had a 16ms Viewsonic LCD, and I can tell the difference when playing FPS games.
The fan/heatsink on my ATI 9800 is broken off. Wanted to know if this BFG Universal Video card fan would fit on my ATI 9800 Pro? Not sure if it uses pins like the current heatsink...

Any recommendations if either the Nforce2 or the VIA chipset is better on these...
A few months back I bought a Samsung 712N LCD. While it was a very bright LCD and I could notice a difference in response time from my current 16ms LCD, but viewing angles were terrible and the text was blurry. Even looking at the screen straight on was bad..........
So I was a Best Buy a...
That's without AA4x AF8x on that I normaly use. Just did a test on another PC... FPS were up around 74 with the sound card disabled.. Just guess I never ran a benchmark with it disabled before. Wonder if it happens in CoD also.. i can't load CoD when the soundcard is disabled.
