Kyle/Hugh, could you give me any idea why I would not be experiencing great write speeds in AD SSD benchmark with this drives little brother?
I have the Kingston HyperX 3K 120Gb, and I just recently put together an Asus P8Z77-V mobo, i5 3570k, 16GB Corsair ram... etc. I have the drive plugged...
Hugh/Kyle, I have had my HyperX 3k drive for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it. I see at the end of the article you mention future firmware updates will improve TRIM bugs/support. However, I cannot find anything about firmware even being available for the 3k drives on Kingstons site...
I give you props for continuing to update this thread. Its cool to see your progress. Your black P180 makes me jealous that I chose the silver instead of the black one back in 2006 when I bought it :p
Just picked up a Samsung LED BX2250 today, and I have Windows 7 to turn the monitor off after 15 mins of inactivity. Now on the Dell 1800FP that this monitor replaced, it had no problem turning off, and the led on it would go orange showing standby. On the new Samsung, it goes black, tries to...

That sounds like more of a theory than anything.. for all we know, MS could have pulled the update. Only way to tell is if people keep coming in this thread saying its still available to them.
For me, I still havent seen it.
Should definitely be more stable, and play a bit nicer with everything.. Wish I had the real deal SP1, instead of hunting for it online. I dont trust the torrents.
I have the K-Lite pack installed now.. however it doesnt seem like Vista wants to provide thumbnails for all my xvid/divx movie files.. Do I also have to install the K-Lite 64-bit pack also? I read the 32bit and 64bit K-Lite packs will play nice together?
Even though I'm using the 32-bit version of WMP im having problems with play back of basic xvid and divx files. I guess I will uninstall CCCP and give K-Lite a try. I haven't had too bad an experience with codec packs, so no worries.. I just cant figure out why CCCP wont work at all.. :(
I just installed another 2GB of ram to put me at 4GB (thus the reason for going 64bit), and I installed CCCP, but it does not seem to want to work at all... None of my xvid files play in WMP. What codec pack works correctly with Vista 64-bit?
So I'm contemplating getting another 2x1GB memory kit of Corsair DDR2-800 XMS2 to put me at 4GB of system ram. What would Vista (x86) Home Premium do with all this memory? From my understanding it will not be able to see it all. My plan was to then reinstall Vista using the x64 media I ordered...
Thanks for the info.. I just got a new X-Fi for the setup in my sig, and was also going to drop another 2GB of memory in within the next month. I'm not yet on Vista x64 as I have the x86 one installed.. but when I make the switch I sure do hope that Creative has this issue addressed by then. I...
I honestly didnt think I would have to install Winzip, but does anyone else notice it takes Vista rediculously long to extract zip files? I'm currently waiting 2 minutes for a weather sidebar gadget to extract (its only 1.18MB!!!). This never happened in XP, however I was using winzip, rather...
qft, if your not seeing artifacts, and your not overclocking, then whats the point? The stock hsf will work just fine considering you have good airflow within your case.
