Just to make things a little more confusing, booting from the XP CD also fails when I only have the freshly formatted drive plugged in...
I just don't get it.
Computer:
Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit fully patched
Abit IP35 Pro
Intel Q6600
4Gigs of Gskill DDR2 RAM
ATI 4870 X2
X-fi Xtreme Music
620 Watt Corsair PSU
1 DVD burner
1 CD burner/dvd rom drive
150 GB Western Digital Raptor hard drive
500 GB Seagate hard drive

I recently bought an Asus 4870 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121276)
and I am getting constant artifacts, with and without drivers. I put in my old 7800 gt and there were no problems, so it is definitely a problem with the card itself. The card is not overheating...
I got normal shipping and my package left from Ohio last night and arrived in Buffalo New York this morning. I'm hopeful that it will reach me by tomorrow.
You guy's aren't reading his post fully, he ordered a laptop the 28th (before the T400 and all the new ones were release) and he still hasn't gotten it. I'm in the same boat, ordered a T61 on the 1st and it wont ship until the 29th when it was originally estimated to ship the 15th.
Hey guys, don't hold your breath on those T61 orders. I ordered mine on 8/1, with an estimated ship date of the 15th. I logged in today to see the ship date has been pushed back to the 29th, 5 days after I leave for college. Great...
By the way, this was through the normal retail site, not...
I see that it saying sold out a good sign, they didn't make the pre-orders unlimited like they have for past cards and totally screw themselves by selling 10X the amount they had available.
That seems fine to me. In an interview one of the devs said that people with older pcs could still run Clear Sky just fine, but without any fancy graphics, and it looks like that is accurate with the minimal requirements. Too see it in all its glory one would need a fairly beefy computer, as...
Sorry to hijack this a bit, but I am in the same boat as the OP and am wondering if I should wait if my budget limit is about $1100. I have configured a solid T61 at that price using coupons and such. If I do wait for the T400, will it even be possible to get the same power of a $1100 T61 in...
I was configuring T61 laptops to see what the final price would be, and when I got to the final check out screen I saw this:
[img=http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/9008/lenovowtfro2.th.jpg]
$2,021.95 tax on a $1,155.30 laptop? Really?
Anyone know what is wrong with their site?
I need a laptop by the 24th, and I don't want to spend more than $1000. I was planning on a T61, but it looks as though it is about to be replaced. Should I wait and get the new lenovo line up? Will I be able to afford it? Will I get it in time for college?
If it is the new mini Inspirions that you are referring too, they seem to be coming out in August-September (according to this article: http://gizmodo.com/5016086/dells-mini-inspiron-laptop-named-e-and-e-slim), which would be too late for me..
I plan on bringing my gaming desktop for my dorm, so the laptop I will be getting does not need to be very powerful, but since I will be bringing it around with my it would be a plus if it was light and had good battery life. I'll be majoring in computer science if that helps any.
I was...

So it looks like the new EEEs have launched. Newegg has the 901s here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=50001315+1039340856&Description=EEE+PC&name=Intel+Atom&Order=PRICED
but I haven't been able to find...
Bit-tech did a test to compare a X16 and X4 crossfire configuration, X8 and X8 configuration, and a X16 and X16 configuration. The article is here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2007/10/12/crossfire_comparison_intel_x38_versus_p35/1
They found out that, at least with the last generation...
Hmmm, if all of this is true, do you think AMD would lift the NDA early so that their card could be properly compared to the new GTX280 to dissuade people from buying it?
Well, I certainly wont be buying a new card until it can run Crysis at ultimate levels with good FPS at 1680 X 1050.
Not because I think Crysis is worth spending hundreds on a video card, but because I can currently play every game out there with my 7800 GT, except for Crysis. Not with all...
