    Fallout 4

Just finished Vault 88. Popped the overseer as soon as I walked in the door, don't need no turncoat, lol. Clearing out the vault was a blast, literally. The bosses in each section, oh snap! Half a dozen nukes, dozen or so missles and more. Soon much fun.

I know what isnt solid. The automation DLC. Last quest crashes at same map spot. Fix is to look at the floor for a bit walking thru the area. Lol

Patriot 2TB SATA SSD $78 on amazon

Best deals I have got recently was surplus/used enterprise NVME. 3.2 TB on PCIE was $130 a couple months ago. Prices trending down as it seems older enterprise NVME life cycle changes are occuring. Everything I have has enough life for a decade or more at my usage.

Best or some of the best Android smartphone ?

I bought my S22 after a Pixel and modded androids before that, my experience with it is not like yours except the occassional reemergence of an unused samsung app after update. No issues with the google dialer at all. Id also stipulate that Samsungs camera app is better than Googles too, if on a...

    Fallout 4

I thought one of the DLC's had ammo station of some sort? Not being able to make ammo was one of my gripes when I play FO4 on release.

    Fallout 4

Did they make load times any faster. I installed a copy of the GOTY version without the newest patch from GOG on my PC. The load times are painfully slow.

2009-era Netgear 54Mbps print server won't connect to modern wifi

As long as the USB doesn't cause interference to the LAN'/WAN side. I had a router years ago that connecting the USB would cause the LAN connection next to it to suffer constant drops.

WOW (and possibly other ISPs) gaming 47 CFR 8.1

Just checked the label for Spectrum, theirs is correct. Well I take issue with median upload claimed speeds, but not much to do there with it being 'median'. Edit: Lumos needs to finish the fiber in my yard. 59.99 for 500 symetrical. Yes please!

Manor Lords - Early Access Release - 4/26/24

Well ran into my first issues. Playing the domination map (which btw makes the game sooo much harder to balance and try to get an army setup, let alone learning how to fight without a crippling defeat), anyway, finding numerous delays in building. I have found the tab key is your friend. Tab pop...

Manor Lords - Early Access Release - 4/26/24

I completed the first map and grew my town to over 300 people. I didn't see anything bugged, it is just VERY difficult to grasp without reading the tool tips and basics. You have to have a LOT of oxen. You need horses for trading. You have to have families that aren't assigned to do anything to...

Manor Lords - Early Access Release - 4/26/24

I am impressed where it is so far. No bugs other noted. Playing the first easy setting, which might be most fleshed out. The amount of micro managing is almost too much. Doubt I'll play at higher difficulty.

Manor Lords - Early Access Release - 4/26/24

It's definitely a RTFM or learn and explore slow game. Everything builds on itself. Like when you start understanding the houses can produce stuff isn't intuitive. Of course that doesn't take off until you start making money

Yes it will damage the computer. Your phone too. And tv and anything with a microprocessor which is well everything but my toilet these days. Best to stop smoking. Outdoors no good either, might harm neighbors computer and be sued for damages

Target joins Best Buy and discontinues sales of DVD's and Blurays

I sit here ironically reading this thread as I clean a copy of Back to the Future in 4k to rip to my plex library. All while cotemplating buying a new pioneer drive that will handle 3 layer discs better and know the death of media is due to the convenience of streaming. Even 50 years ago there...

Power outage monitor that works? Known reliable from personal experience?

The most reliable one I know of is my UPS for my home server. Damn thing trips and alarms that the power is out every single time the laser printer starts cause they are on the same circuit. Not much help for you perhaps. Maybe HomeAssistant monitoring the status of a Kasa or other smart plug...

Any Prosumer/Enterprise-ish Wireless Access Points I'm missing?

I haven't paid all that much attention. I believe HP has been more restrictive with recent models. I can tell you from experience it really isn't a side grade. Them old 325s are way better than nearly any other ac AP out there. Rock of Gibraltar stable and performant. They really aren't...

Omada, older Aruba are my go to. You can get solid Aruba IAP325s (the ones that don't need a controller) for like $20 on ebay.

Ripping music CD on Nero didn't get 1.4Mbps on FLAC

I'll try to take a stab at this, though you seem stuck in the mud. So you bought the software, so what?, I bought a 14.4 kbps modem, doesn't mean I still use it. Nero was outdated for ripping music 15+ years ago, and as far as I know it still is out of date for that purpose. dbPoweramp, EAC and...

    1.92TB KIOXIA CM6-R KCM6DRUL1T92 on Windows

usually, just hoops, mostly formating and custom bios issues. there is also connectors, like u.3, where you usually need adapters unless you are running a enterprise board as well. 1.92TB KIOXIA CM6-R KCM6DRUL1T92 on Windows

That is a bit on the spendy side for used ent gear. I just paid $130 for 3TB nvme's. I'd suggest looking around for options and reading up on how to do the reformats along with other specific issues with used ent gear. 520 sectors is just one reason used gear may not work in windows, there are...

Replacement WiFi Router for my dad

The physical setup then using the VPN functions on the ER605 work great and that is one option, as you then can use the local GUI after you have setup the VPN correctly. The hardware controllers go as cheap as $60 on sale, or run the free software like you do. I helped fully remotely (zero...

Replacement WiFi Router for my dad

This, but don't skip the Omada portion. The remote management of everything is very helpful. I've given this setup to several people who are mostly tech literate. Then remote managed just to double check. If I still had parents I'd use this setup. Though there is a part of me, that would tell...

    RAID backup

You use an OS that offers parity drive protection for a large array. I have 60TB at home with 2 parity drives. Meaning 2 individual drives can fail and be replaced, the data rebuilt and move on, before I lose data. If 3 or more drives failed at the same time I would lose data.
