The only time when I had a similar problem is when I tried using a KVM switch on my 3007WFP. Sparklies would show up on high resolutions only. When I unplugged the KVM, everything was OK. Can you try another cable?
When I bought my 3007WFP (I'm in Canada too), I called up Dell and they were more than willing to knock down the price. I bought mine for $1500 2.5 years ago when the list price was ~$2000, if I remember correctly. Call them up, see what they say. BTW, 3007WFP or 3007WFP-HC, both warmly...
You should always use DVI on monitor's native resolution. That'll give the best picture. Using VGA will give you a varying degree of blurriness, depending on resolution.
Did anyone get the extended warranty for their 3007 and where from? Does Dell sell it?
My 3007WFP will be out of warranty in 6 months. I love it but I don't trust it one bit. Here's why: got the original, terrible bleed in two corners, Dell sent replacement, DOA, Dell sent another, was fine...
Thanks. They were out of the Acer (no wonder at that liquidation-level price) so I got the Samsung T220. Really minimal bleed at the bottom plus all the typical TN traits (hue shifts, unsaturated colour, ...). Not a bad monitor, for the price, but I have it next to the Dell 3007WFP and they...
Which 22'' would you pick from the pack? I know they're all 6 bit TNs and that LG and Samsung suffer from backlight bleed on top and bottom (not sure about the Acer). Prices are $230 for LG, $200 for Samsung and $170 for Acer (not sure I'll be able to grab the Acer, likely sold out). Personally...
Hi,
I'm about to build a new system for me. I'm thinking about the Q6600. What motherboard should I get? I don't care about SLI/Crossfire right now but that may change. What overclocks/underclocks (that machine will be underclocked later in its life) better? Should I get DDR2 or DDR3 (still...
Hi,
I'm looking for a 17''-20'' LED backlight monitor. Widescreen is preferable. What are my options? SIPS is also better.
No, I'm not replacing the 3007WFP.
Thanks.
OK, I got a new (refurbished) 3007. Backlight is generally much better than the old one but it gives me a bunch of horizontal and vertical lines in different colors on any resolution higher than 1280x800. My old 3007 that's supposed to go back still displays 2560x1600 just fine.
How do you...
Another vote here for Dell 3007 and 3007-HC. They are IPS monitors, so good color reproduction, no hue shifts when viewed at an angle and fast response time (I game on my 3007, it's definitely fast enough). I had a PVA monitor before for 2 days and I returned it. Input lag and hue shifts are...
Hi,
I have a dark patch on my Dell 3007WFP:
It will stay there for hours (these things become more uniform when they heat up - 10, 15 min but this stays there). I run the monitor on very low brightness (basement with low light). If I increase the brightness, the dark patch goes away...
Is anybody else's power button acting up on 3007s? Mine sometimes works and others doesn't (doesn't work at all right now actually). The monitor is perfectly fine otherwise. I'm afraid to turn it off as I might not be able to turn it on again.
I know this will make no sense but does the...
I was running Crysis at 1650x1080 on a 30'' and it looked fine (had to actually drop res later, it was too slow). I can't tell when a game is playing in non-native res. It's easy to tell with the desktop but not at all with the games.
I'd get the 3008 if it had LED backlight (at a reasonable price), regardless of extra inputs. As it doesn't have the proper backlight and I don't care about D-SUB and 640x480 type resolutions, I won't upgrade.
Well, you said it. The price. And the fact I'll never use the other inputs. And it seems to be delaying and complicating the 3008. If they're up to a challenge, they should put in the LED backlight at a reasonable price (that would make me upgrade).
Extra inputs don't bother me really if they...
He's not in minority. 3007 is perfect as it is. It only needs LED backlight and maybe another DVI port. Don't need the other junky low resolution inputs. Using the scale chip to upscale from a lower resolution won't look any better then the video card doing it. In fact, the video card might do a...
No, it's saying 2 GB in System Control Panel and Task Manager also shows only 2 GB. It'd be OK if I could at least see 3 GB. Why would MS claim 4 GB support then??
I have a Mac Pro with 4 GB RAM. When I boot XP it only sees 2 GB (OS X sees the full 4 GB). I know it's a 32 bit OS and all that but MS claims it supports up to 4 GB. XP sees 3 GB for some people on the same machine as mine. I tried /PAE switch in boot.ini but it didn't do anything. Any wisdom...
See here. Plethora of ports, including HDMI, DisplayPort and dual DVI-D (of course, D-SUB and RCA are just a waste of time). But no mention whether it's still S-IPS (I certainly hope so) or maybe has LED backlighting (that would make it just awesome).
Not true. OpenGL always implements all the features DX has so it does matter as OS X uses OpenGL. They are a bit behind on DX10 this time around but they'll do it. I might be tempted if they put in 2600 mobile in there (and they fix the dumb 6 bit screen).
