Because you could beat an 8-bit or 16-bit in an afternoon in the old days and replay later. These days it takes 100+ hours, who wants to that all over today. Only exception was FF7, that was worth it and I was teenager then. :)
None in those models that you posted earlier. They do have the option for the HD 6750 in low profile, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131448 . Other than that there are 6570 and 5570 in low profile as well.

Here is something new from HP. You can now add Quad-core to the new 3400t Slimlines when customized.
Processor
A faster processor supports more efficient operations and applications performance
Help me decide Choices:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual-Core processor E2200 (2.2GHz)

I would avoid that company at all cost. Try talking to customer support and you will know what I mean. Website was no help at all and in the end, I tossed out a $50.00 motherboard because of it. If anythting go with either Foxconn or MSI for decent low priced board.
Go with the EVGA model becasue of the step-up program. ECS to me is a second rate company and poor customer support. I know that all 9600GT are set at 64 stream and 8800GT are set at 112 stream. If you can afford an extra $40.00, go with a 8800GT.
Check this out. 9600GT w/ HDMI. Seems kindly long for the slimlines & requires 6-pin power cable.

Still using a 754 3200+ with 1.5gb DDR400, PCI-E 8500gt, 160GB WD HDD, old Gateway Case. Used as a second system next to my main for Thottbot, downloads, and IMs.
Same here, the 939 SLI board was nice in concept but failed when OCers & even mild power users tried to beef up the performance. I know I went through 2 boards and I blame Foxconn, not really EVGA, for the motherboard failure. (It is true EVGA did not make boards til this year; they...
Only site I found that sells it. FYI, its from Canada and don't the final total w/ shipping and taxes (if any).

it seems a little high in price for a PCI card, I would upgrade the motherboard with an 16x express slot.
Where are the 9600GSO available? Dont see them state side. I have mini tower that can take only cards 8600gt and smaller in length because of the hdd cage.
I would tell your friend to save up and buy a cheap system or find a way, if possilbe, to upgrade the motherboard to accept Pci-e 16x. The price for a new system are getting cheaper and even ebay has some good bargins.
I know for a fact that I can play WoW & EQ2 fine in high res w/o any problems. I have the Galaxy 8600gt and upgraded to the max on my Intel based Slimline S3100 series. Even with on board I was getting decent frames on MMOs @ 1024x768. Hope that helps

And also it depends on what your system can handle. Power supply & interface slot (PCI, AGP, or PCI-E). I have a slimline HP system w/ a 8600GT and love it. Its not a gaming monster but it...
My experience with the 8600GT LP has been a great for me. I surf and play a few games in high rez like Hellgate and WOW on a 22" Benq w/o any problems. Granted that I use a Slimline HP with only a 180 Watt PSU, so I don't see a problem using a 8600GT in your system. Just keep in mind the Cpu...
Hey guys, those that have ordered the 8600GT (Low Profie) from NCIX.com should be getting a shipping notice w/ a tracking number soon. Mine will get here Friday :D
Well if I don't get the 8600gt soon, I will order this video card for the time being http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=GF7300GT-HDTV-WB&cat=VCD
Funny that this card is made by Galaxy and has DDR3 but only 128mb. Does not say if a low profile kit comes w/ it.
Has anyone rec'd a tracking number or an e-mail when NCIX.com will send out the 8600GT LP? I ordered mine back on 10/04. The only respone was a shipment was due in 11/12. Just won a C2D 6700 off Ebay for my Slimline S3100y. It sucks waiting this long for a video card.
There is some truth, on the HP site it shows that the motherboard can handle 4GB for the 3220n model. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01154947&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3548659&lang=en
but it does not show the power supply infomation.
Has anyone tried to contact HP to see if they sell the 180w PSU found in the Intel Slimline? Worth a try for a extra 20w for those that have AMD Slimlines.
Archaea, I heard the PSU for the slimlines are hard to replace, but I wanted to know if the PSU has the normal 24 or 20 connector to the motherboard. if so may want to try this little trick. Dual PSU. I have used it in the past for a SFF and had a 7800GTX that suck too much power for the main...
Hey guys wanted to know, which of the slimeline PCs (AMDor Intel Version) is best to upgrade? via Vista benchmark. I have read that the max cpu for the AMD is the 65w 5200x2 and for the Intel it is E6700. So which is better?
