The problem here isnt really the card itself... Its officially stated to compete with the GTS640, which it bests, and sometimes matches the GTX, but somehow, HOCP now manages to make it perform even worse than the GTS320 while having better drivers... I bet if they make a re-review in 2 months...
There are 2 things that sadden me about this thread
1 - Nvidia fanboys bashing the card when it clearly sits comfortably between the GTS and GTX with a great price, while still having a lot of performance to unlock
2 - Ati fans cant even "defend" the card properly and keep using stupid...
No its not, GTS 640 equal or better? LOL! HD2900XT sits comfortable between GTS640 and GTX in performance, and drivers are still early, who knows how far it can go

The point the OP was trying to make is: The card is far, far from being tapped to its full potential
Whether or not the wait for better drivers is worth is a completely different matter, but the fact is, it IS a great card, and...
From what I read around review sites, the problem with this card is it has "programmable" AA, whatever that means, which probably means they really have to tweak drivers to get full performance out of it, or else how do you explain that the card has almost double the bandwidth of the X1950XTX...
I thought your post was serious until I read your system specs LOL
Its pretty obvious Nvidia fans are going all out to bash this product, but they fail because:
1 - Who says I give a damn about power consumption?
2 - Who says I give a damn about heat?
3 - Who says I give a damn about...
First post here, Ive been watching these forums for some time and I just cant stand the blatant fanboy bashing going on here every time a product isnt stellar.
I just want to address the "performance/cost" issue many people are having and say this: The HD2900XT offers the best value on the...
