that's odd. i just opened up everest ultimate. and it shows mine correctly as an e8400 at (9 x 450). does cpu-z identify it correctly? do you have the latest version of everest?

online will bring the best deals.. id recommend newegg, zipzoomfly, mwave, and performance-pcs (for misc parts)

yeah i'd ditch the supreme fx anyway. if you look up reviews on the maximus formula and where they did testing on the sound. it didnt do too well. i got the xi-fi xtreme fatality pro myself. good luck with your system!

pretty common in general to have up to a 10C range between the cores from everything ive read. on my e8400 one core idles at 51 and the other at 42. id say it's nothing to worry about. you could try remounting if you really wanted, but i doubt it makes much of a difference

my vote goes to the ultima-90 or the zerotherm nirvana in that price range

so the only real advantage the raptors still have is seek time which would affect game loading and windows loading times correct? can anyone comment on how a couple of raptor 150's would do in raid-0 in terms of seek time and file transfer compared to 1 raptor and also compared to a couple...

chassis fan 3 TEMP? did you buy the optional temp sensors? if not, that's probably why. run the fan on ratio instead of by temp unless you did buy the temp sensors

yeah prime95 or orthos. i like orthos, but you'd probably want to use prime95 if you had a quad core
