One of the reasons I asked, is because on the Asus site where it describes the updated BIOS (version 0303), it says it will: "Increase system stability."

Should I update my BIOS? I have a Asus P6X58D-E and the BIOS version is 0108 from 3/23/10. Asus gives warnings that you could mess everything up and you shouldn't do it unless you have issues. I have no issues, but plan to do some overclocking.

It's irrelevant now because I just bought the E. That's a neat link, I'll have to check it out more; but the differences listed tell me I made the right choice.

When I had this problem someone on this forum said to set the NB voltage to 1.45v. I did and that fixed it.

I'm no expert and you don't say what motherboard you are using, but... I would get the E6400 and the PC-6400 memory you want and try your FSB to 400 with a 8 mulitplier for a 3.2GHz overclock. That way you can run the memory at it's rated speed of 800MHz.

Anyone use the Asus AI Booster utility for overclocking? It's part of the Ai Suite on the CD, and it says you can use it to make overclocking settings from this Windows program instead of from the BIOS. Also, has anyone tried the Ai Gear, Ai Nap, and Ai N.O.S. programs just for fun?

Well, if people experience ghosting they should realize it is typical of LCD's. A small abount should be expected. If any ghosting is unacceptable, I'd say go back to a CRT.

Ok, I'll use the 8-pin. The P5B motherboard has options for both and the manual says to use whatever your PS has. Since the Corsair PS has both and says to use whatever your motherboard has, I was confused. Like I said previously, neither manual says which connector is preferable.

Is this for a very old system? I don't think there is much market for 200w power supplies nowdays.
